Favre will sign for $16.5 million, up from the $13 he was scheduled to get.

Thats what I said when I first heard he would "retire." This is nothing more than a ploy to get attention and a significant raise in light of Stafford's record-breaking contract.

If this is just his usual drama and his need to be wanted, I can let that slide.

If this was for a money grab shame on Favre.

According to the article, Favre never even explicitly told his teammates he was going to retire. he allegedly just sent some of them texts saying, "this is it" which is so vague it could mean anything. he might not have even been making a play for more money, as i first suspected. like so many other things, this has been blown way out of proportion.

The cries of pain from fantasy football owners who cut Favre can be heard from miles away.

I think he will come back. But, I think that this is the LAST season.

This is the vikings one Last GREAT chance. Childress will tell him that, and there is no way he would refuse coming back for that kind of money, with that kind of team, with a super chance to win a super bowl and go out on top.. A NFC champioship game visit is pretty much a sure thing for the vikes if he signs.

I don't know if it's a sure thing, but the Vikes should be a playoff team for sure.

I like Green Bay and, gulp,.... Dallas in the NFC Championship game.

**I think I just threw up in mouth just now.**

Word is he was actually inviting some teammates over to a Michael Jackson "This is It" viewing party...but somehow that message got lost in translation
