So the Denver Post has an interesting Shanny article which includes a poll about which team will do better this year. When I voted about 37% said Shanny's Skins will do better. I thought that was crazy low, although another 18% said both will be about the same. Here's the link:

Who'll be better? Shanahan's Redskins or McDaniels' Broncos? - The Denver Post (http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_15640908)

44.91% Denver
34.73% Skins

Of course, this is a Denver paper, but that's a joke to think Denver will be better. But, I suppose it's telling that it's THIS close on a Denver site. Their local readers don't seem very confident in their team this year.

McDaniels will be this year's Zorn. He finished last year just like Zorn finished year #1 and I expect year #2 to be about the same.

With Orton, Quinn and a big question mark with Tebow at QB...that's not very good.

They should just start Tebow from week 1 and hope he overachieves. The other two QB options won't carry them far, especially in a division where Oakland and KC will be improved and SD will still be solid.

Last place for the Broncos.

They have a year under the same system...their d and qb isnt as good but I'll give them the edge.

Yeah, I think the defense early on in the year kind of surprised everyone and masked Orton's faults but I don't know that KO is even a backup on half the teams in the league

Seriously, are you really a Skins fan, Saden? You always seem so pessimistic. The Donkeys are HORRIBLE. Their fast start last season made their record look a lot better than they really were.

Did you forget they also lost Marshall? I don't see McDaniels being a very successful head coach in the NFL.

How did that year under the same system work for Zorn?
It's unlikely that they are going to do anything more than 8-8, and I would be shocked if they get there. In what universe does getting rid of your best 3 offensive weapons(QB, WR, TE), losing your starting LT (not McD's fault) and changing D coordinators (the one bright spot from last year) lead to a better team?

I choose the Skins because the Skins will finally have a legit offense and a pressurizing defense. I also believe that the Skins will play many COMPLETE GAMES with all the improved conditioning they have had.

That said, I don't think the Broncos will be 4-12 terrible but will rather hover around 7-9.

Zorn's system and approach to offense was bad from the bottom up. McDaniels at least oversaw the offense in New England, which was quite good.

Yeah, but he can't get away with the video cameras anymore. :D

Charlie Weis was a Belichick understudy too. Ask any ND fans how that resume line helped on the field. :D

Without Brandon Marshall I don't see them doing all that much. Of course we're going through so much change here, you can't really say we're a juggernaut just yet either.

But it's not an apples to apples comparison. The question is how will we do in our second year under Shanahan compared to McDaniels' second year with the Broncos. Still nobody knows, but I'd bet on us simply because McNabb > Orton or Tebow.
