You guys can't feel sorry for AL. Yea it's starting to get ugly with the media but this is why Mike Shanahan has won 2 super bowls and has a great coaching record. The guy doesn't put up with BS. Albert brought this on him self when he asked for a trade and didn't show up for OTAs

I do, because Albert can't/won't win.

Just because Albert won't win with MS, he can win back some teammates with all of this. I think MS is walking a fine line here. It's blatantly obvious he's making an example of him, which at this stage seems stupid. He showed up, he's 30 lbs lighter, and he's ready to work. Put him on the field and move on.

Apparently these conditioning tests are pretty brutal, and one defensive player said that few players would be able to pass the test that Albert has been taking, and another D-lineman said they had to take that same test in the offseason, but they weren't timed. Others in the organization have acknowledged that he's clearly in shape and has dropped 35 lbs.

Redskins Insider - Redskins will give Haynesworth a third chance to pass physical (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/albert-haynesworth/redskins-will-give-haynesworth.html)

It's clearly a power struggle/pissing contest. We get it Mike. You're the boss. There's no need for this at this point. I'm no fan of Albert, but let's cut the distractions and get our best defensive player on the field.

Redskins Insider - More on Albert Haynesworth's failed conditioning tests (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/albert-haynesworth/more-on-albert-haynesworths-fa.html)

"What happened the other day was he ran the first rep and then he had to use the restroom," Wright said. "You get three and a half minutes; he was gone close to 10. So I gave Albert the option, 'Do you want to run this again?' My suggestion was, let's just wait until the morning. He wanted to run it again, so we ran it again. So you get three reps as opposed to the two that it normally takes."
So, I guess Shanahan should stop getting credit/blame being a hardass/ego-stroker from perople. Albert wanted to take the test, got burned, and inadvertently gave Shanahan an even better image than Shanahan had before this ordeal, for the most part. As I expected, there really isn't a pissing contest going on.

^ I agree but shanny had to prove a point to this team. It's not like it was with zorn, I want to see AL on the field also but I love what Mike has done so far

Here's an idea for AH: show up to 50% of the OTAs. Then you won't have to run suicides in the broiling summer sun while everyone watches.

Once Shanny said there would be a test, AH has to take and pass the friggin test. What's so hard to get about that? The alternative strikes me as worse: special treatment for a player who's already made a stink in the offseason.

I don't think this has anything to do with feeling sorry for AH. It's all about how this is turning into a big media circus. In the end, it's AH's fault for now showing up when he was supposed to, we get it, the whole world gets it. But when it gets to the point where even some of the players are starting to question what is going, you know something is not right.

I have to believe that there is a way for MS to beat up on AH during practice. Shit, make him run laps after practice, keep him with the 3rd stringers, etc., etc. Anything but this media circus that is probably giving Mike Florio and Cowboys fans a huge boner.

Is he really our best defensive player??? I don't think so have not seen him do jack since coming here. You disgraced Fletcher by saying that.

Everyone was hating on Fat Albert and now that he has to take his meds everyone wants MS to go easy.

F fatty with or without we will post the same amount of wins.

I think MS has more than proven his point.

This league has long been catering to the Prima Donna. Nobody like s but most teams do it. I have no doubt guys like Big making multiple m's....passing out on the field between plays and unable to go because he's to...(fill in the blank) cause problems with the rest of the team and the true "team players" .
I TOTALLY respect and support MS for going against popular opinion, standing his ground, making an example of BIG. He is doing what is talked about but rarely pursued.......demanding TEAM first from his guys and the attitude that HEY, you ain't all that special.
There will not be any problem with.....any guys laying out of OTA's, or taking plays off, etc in the future?

The actions of the team should not be influenced by the media.

Matt Bowen acknowledged that these conditioning tests are normal. It was understood by the players that missing over 50% of the offseason workouts meant you had to pass the test. So, here we are with the test and he hasn't passed it, but people want to ignore the pre-established rules and let him slide. For shame.
