Haynesworth fails conditioning test

I guess I'm not buying the Shanahan would have failed him no matter what either. BUT, nor was he going to pass him just because he got 21Mill in Apr. Shanahan laid out a standard. Was it nit picky on purpose, yes. But the point is made, both to AH, and to the rest of the team, that there is a stated standard of execution and excellence that everybody must meet to be considered a Washington Redskin.
For the players that showed up all off-season, they see that it paid off, both physically and in terms of team esprit de corps; and for AH, it should get him acclimated to Shanahan's bottomline.

I tend to believe that AH felt he did so well on the first that he proved himself, but the rules of the breaks were just guidelines. I am guessing he sees that slightly differently now.

Good post. There is a new sheriff in town and AH needs to man up or get out.

Big Al failed again this morning

Really? Wow, does that mean they are going to hold him out of practice again? This is really discomforting...If he is in such great shape, it shouldn't be too difficult to pass a conditioning test should it?

Any other details other than just the fact that he failed SS?

The theory about him not showing up to mandatory mini camp because he was out of shape is not looking so silly now is it? Sure, he got with his trainer to lose some lbs but it is obvious that he hasn't been doing it long enough based on his lack of conditioning.

Looks like AH is getting the Montrae Holland treatment:
Redskins' Haynesworth crossed the wrong guy - NFL - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=lc-haynesworth072910)

If so, a trade might not be far away, given the precedent.

Haha...try Wheaties, Al...your peanut butter brownie sundae breakfast diet isn't working.

(to be fair, he HAS lost weight, but his motivation went with it)

I love how Shanahan is like an Army drill sergeant. I bet Owens would be failing some tests too if he came in with an arrogant attitude.

The other guys watching this happen to Haynesworth are going to work very hard to stay in line all year I bet. He's making an example out of AH, but is probably solidifying the rest of the team in the process. He's an evil genius.

This is awesome:

So he was banished to a solo workout on a treadmill on Thursday as the rest of the team practiced outside. Later, after practice was over and the fans were heading toward their cars, he was dragged out for a scramble around trash cans on a far-off field. When he was done he was forced to jog a gauntlet of fans, past the media and back into the safety of the locker room.

Predictably, he did not speak to anyone during his walk of shame.

Either Al will be leaving shortly, or Shanahan will break him down and force him into a weak position where all he can do is get in line and quietly abide by the rules to avoid any more public humiliation. Shanahan's not going to be the one to back down in this situation.

BREAKING: Albert Haynesworth won't be practicing today, per 106.7 Fan.

He didn't pass this morning's workout after running about 15 minutes in sprints. Shanny wasn't on the field working him out, it was Jim Haslett. Apparently Fat Al went then to his car, but no one knows if he actually left or he's still there.

Grant Paulsen said that someone who saw the test said that AH did not seem gassed, and they were surprised that he didn't pass. I don't get it. Also, it sounded like Haslett administered the test not MS. But this was all second hand info on 106.7 the fan...
