Revenge is sweet until it bites you in the ass.

I think it's pretty cool that Shanahan punished him today... But it makes me wonder:
1) AH needs to be in practice and learn the 3-4. Each day he doesn't -- isn't good.
2) As has been mentioned, punishing a guy by telling him he can't work out with the team - is actually giving him a break.
3) After punishing AH and with an angry locker room -- how do we know he'll really play for us in games?? Can you *TRUST* him in the 4th quarter to stop Brandon Jacobs with one yard to go into our endzone? What if he just throws plays to get back at -- everyone?

Ideally, I'd like to punish and bruise him physically all training camp, and then get the virus out of our locker room by game 1. But he's too "good" and too expensive to trade without getting value.

Lmao I love Kenny Powers.

i'm going to sha booms!!!!!

after watching the news tonight they showed video of him running a few drills by himself with someone else either a coach or trainer not sure. does anyone know what he did after the failed test? did he just pack up and leave or did he stay at the park and train his brain?

Are we all turning against each other over this?? The truth is MS is...the COACH. Fat Albert is...a player on the coaches team (for now). Respect your boss, get your fat ass out of the bathroom, suck it up for 21m and do your ****ing job! Please, someone offer me a fraction of his salary, I'll run till I puke non-stop.

Shanny might just use this as his excuse to cut him or like someone said recoup some of the money back if this violates his contract. Maybe AH flunked it on purpose to get his fat arse out of DC somehow.

For a quarter of his salary I would live in the locker room and sleep in a sleeping bag for all OTAs and preseason workouts and would never miss a game unless truly messed up. I would play all downs also.

Yup! And I'd drop kick anyone Shanny asked me to.

I think I'm feeling multiple reasons for this.

I think I agree with the reasoning that even if Big Al had finished the third 300 yard shuttle, Shanny would've made him run a fourth. This was pretty much about Shanny enforcing a point, that he's the coach and he's in charge. But there may have been sub-motivations in play here too. Like maybe this was also Shanny's way of trying to clear any negative air the rest of the players might've had towards Haynesworth, as was previously mentioned in this thread. Once the players see a slimmer Haynesworth than they saw last year, and they know he came in early and still tried to pass the test they are more likely to accept him back into the locker room. I doubt he fails again tomorrow, simply because Shanny doesn't want him missing too many practice days because of how many he's missed already this year. I wouldn't be suprised if he only had to run 2 300 yard shuttles tomorrow, and since he was able to do it today he'll probably be able to do it tomorrow.

Either way this isn't that big of an issue, by all accounts players are saying that he looks better than he did at this point last year and this is probably more about Shanny putting the foot down than about how out of shape Haynesworth is (I don't believe he's out of shape either, he's probably in great shape for a DE/DT.)

I didn't know these coaches were as impeccable as God himself and that false propaganda is this god's lackey's conception of truth.

No one is saying Shanahan is impeccable or infallible or even God, just saying, rightly so, that he's the man in charge.
