Anyone know how they got McCants on the active roster this week? Didn't look like they sat a WR so where did they drop a player?

FRPLG, this is from the Washington Times:

Gibbs said he hopes to continue to activate Darnerien McCants for games after the third-year receiver caught his first two passes of the season late in Sunday's loss. McCants, who led Washington with six touchdowns in 2003, had been active in only one other game this year. The Redskins, though, found a way to free up a gameday roster spot for him by dressing only seven offensive linemen and handing over all returning duties to James Thrash.

How does handing all returning duties to Thrash change anything. Betts even caught one and handed off to him.

The extra spot was opened up by carrying one less lineman.

The reference to Thrash means that since he is handling more ST work, McCants took his place in WR duties.

I'd rather see Gardner get 'rested' for a game and both Thrash and McCants in there.

How fitting is that nickname 50/50 for Rod Gardner?....if that isnt right on the money, I dont know one that would be!!!

with morton out and all the injuries on defense, i'm surprised they even have 45 people to activate ;)... I think "handing over duties" meant that chad is out... cutting an active OL guy would mean 2 free spots then?

Thrash is now basically taking Morton's spot as the return specialist, so it leaves a WR/RB spot open for DMac.
Aren't we also a little light with TE's right now too after Rasby was cut, and Baxter was signed then cut again?
