Randle El: Dan Snyder held Jim Zorn back | ProFootballTalk.com (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/07/18/randle-el-dan-snyder-held-jim-zorn-back/)
I knew eventually A former player would come out and trash DS. Randle El never lived up to his hype either. So he really can't talk much.

Honestly a man who calls a stretch play when in the endzone doesn't deserve a chance. Zorn isn't a head coach. The only reason he looked good in 08 was because the players were taking everything from the 07 season.
Hell, Zorn calling the stretch plays, never changing up game plans, using Moss and Randle El rather than Kelly and Thomas in the endzone. He just isn't a coach.
He's a good QB coach, but that's it.
Out of all players though, Randle El, talk about a man who was given more than a chance and never did a damn thing. Ugh makes me sick even thinking about all those fair catches when he had room to run and no fair catches when he didn't have anything.
Glad they are both gone, the end.

^ Agreed. He is one of the last people to talk about the previous regime. It would be nice to hear some real insight about what was going on in the past. I mean was Daniel Snyder calling plays like Al davis? Doubtful on that one. I also doubt Dan had any input on the game plan for Sundays.

I guess DS held ARE back to.

He didn't meddle enough it seems. Because I remember at least two occassions last year when Danny Smith and other assistants wanted to and did bench ARE from returning punts...only to have ARE plead his case to Zorn who would overrule the other coaches (as was his right) and keep ARE on the field to return punts when clearly he no longer should have been.

Meh, could be true. However, even though was held back, Zorn did lack some of the necessary skills to be a OC, like making the right playcalls and adjustments, and lacked some of the skills to be a HC, like communicating with his players and managing what was going on. I think he have made this team look even more talentless than it actually was.
And yeah ARE, you came here to get paid and got paid.

Damm! I forgot about that.

I also remember after Gibbs left, ARE said that Gibbs held the team back as well. So anyway, this isn't meant to bash Randle El. Just saying that he seems to have a lot to discuss, but perhaps not much to really say.
Anyhow, what's done is done. Good luck to Zorn in Baltimore, Randle El in Pittsburgh, and Hail to the Redskins!

El is just mad that shanny didn't want him. Yea he was good In Pittsburgh bcuz of the players around him. ( ward, Ben, plax, bus etc.) but when he was asked to be a number 2, he couldn't do it. Now he's back at the 3 spot and it wouldn't shock me if he played well again.

This is another classic case of finger pointing, when you should look no further than the mirror. ARE and Zorn, both good guys.
The one thing in common they both share. Neither one did a notable job for the REDSKINS, underachievers. In Zorns case had way to much on his plate from the day old bug eyes/Dan promoted him to Head Coach before he spent a week trying to figure out how he was going to do the job he was hired to do in the first place.
Good luck, but VERY glad both are gone.
