Stop the Madness, T.O. should be a skin (but he's not, he's a Bengal)

I think T.O. is at the age where he just wants to produce on the field and get a ring. Every player wants a ring i think he has realized while in Buffalo do my job and shut up time is very valuable to him. He will sign with someone at the end or after training camp.

Now if you could just take care of his age, diminishing skill and dropped passes, you'd be onto something.Uh, we're the Redskins. We pay out the ear for those things.

I think wanting T.O. here in his current state is more of a referendum on our fanbase than on player evaulation or his great changed character.

With that said, I can't say I'd be disappointed either if we did bring him in, which tells you everything you need to know about the state of our receivers.

Seen a few posts recognizing the fact that "T.O. was a model citizen in Buffalo".

Yeah well, look at his history, he is ALWAYS the model citizen in his first year with a team. He was in Philly, he was in Dallas, he was in Buffalo. Just seems Buffalo learned from other teams not to keep him around long enough to start his rants.

What happened in his SECOND year in Philly? What happened his SECOND year in Dallas?

Owens is aging, his skills are diminishing, and he still drops balls a lot. Can he contribute on the feild? Yes, but not like he used to do.

Owens will sit tight until there is a training camp injury to a WR some where in the league and then he will cash in on a one year deal.

No one will sign him to the deal he wants, he is looking at a mid level contract at best. Why do you think he signed in Buffalo so quickly last year? He knew when he got the offer, no one else was going to offer him 6 mill. And that is still the case.

However, he will get paid more when a training camp injury somewhere makes him more valuable to a team.

Dont go after Owens, there is youth in Washington and a much more seasoned QB.

In past yrs I would have been against T.O. I'm also against having him around 3-5 yrs.

What I think is funny is the fact people look at him as a problem child with out even knowing why he was a problem child. How would you guys feel if Art Monk was told sorry the Skins don't keep individual records? As for you Sandtrap it would be like Dallas saying "sorry Irvin we don't keep individual stats or acknowledge them."

It was my understanding that while with the Eagles T.O. was told they don't acknowledge individual stats. That pissed him off since he had just broken a record catch wise. He is also close friends with Irvin so he decided to wear Irvins jersey prior to the teams next game. That pissed off the other players and fans. The owner and HC decided to not do anything or say anything about it. That pissed of the players and fans even more. A few players decided to openly make comments about it and it started an issue between a lineman and T.O. Somehow McNabb got involved and it kept getting worse from there. Honestly I can kinda see both sides of it.

Dallas was another issue. Romo sucks and I can see many WR's getting pissed with him. lol. JK. I think there was a lot of stress with the team. T.O. who had been the go to guy was now being double teamed by opposing teams which forced Romo to use other receivers. I think that simply grated on T.O. When he was wide open Romo was looking short to Whitten and T.O. hardly got the ball when double covered because of the double coverage.

You mention Buffalo as if they wised up and cut him from the team. That was not the case. T.O. was traded to Buffalo or took a 1 yr deal with them. He was a modle player while there, but his contract was up and he is looking to play elsewhere. I don't think anyone could blame him. I don't think they offered him a contract but if he was happy in Buffalo he would not be shopping his talent around the league.

Also T.O. has mentioned he knows he's old and not neccessarily a #1 WR and is content being the #2. Now people will say "the Skins don't need a #2 we need a #1" but he's still better then what we have now. As I see it either Moss would be doubled or T.O. which would leave everyone else single covered. Plus Andy Reid, and Wade Phillips are not the strongest HC's in the league. I think Shanahan would have handled the situation better.

You obviously are talking about T.O. coming in as a coach, right?

T.O. should be last resort. If no one else becomes available then sign him, but hopefully someone else is there.

Did I mention that T.O. is practically begging to be here....

D.C. Sports Bog - T.O. has "open arms" to Redskins (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2010/07/to_has_open_arms_to_redskins.html)

I think that at this point we have several one year options. If we think that he can really change something for a year and that we can replace the production that he offered in a year it would be alright. Didn't Shanahan basically say from the beginning a move like that would wait until September or October?

At this point I'm going with whatever the FO thinks.
