Mc2guy 07-07-2010, 04:21 PM Hope springs eternal in the human breast;
Man never Is, but always To be blest:
The soul, uneasy and confin'd from home,
Rests and expatiates in a life to come.
-Alexander Pope,
An Essay on Man, Epistle I, 1733
Pope must have been a Redskins fan...:D:D
RememberRFK 07-07-2010, 04:53 PM Anything will be better than last year. Sure, we'll take our lumps this year... just not as many as last year.
rbanerjee23 07-07-2010, 06:19 PM What two cheerleaders will make out in a bathroom this year?
HAHAHAHA!!! I actually laughed out loud at that one. I wish that was the biggest problem facing our team...kissing cheerleaders
Beemnseven 07-07-2010, 07:09 PM Wow...the kool-aid is particularly strong this offseason. Am I the only one worried about these little facts:
1. Completely new coaching staff (top to bottom)
2. Completely new offensive system
3. Completely new defensive scheme + system
4. New quarterback working with our receivers
5. Rookie LT
6. RT coming off an injury
Those are just the big things -- I know we have made some great moves and I am certainly a fan (check the avatar) but at this moment BEFORE THEY HAVE EVEN PUT ON PADS, personally, I would be very happy with an 8-8 finish. In fact, that would be pretty miraculous considering the factors, division etc.
More specifically, regarding the defense -- we had a real problem last year in the secondary with the double moves. If there's one area where I have concerns, it's the defensive backfield. Other than some departures, I haven't heard of many additions that make me feel any better.
Will Haslett alone be enough of a difference to turn this segment of the team around? I hope so.
Paintrain 07-07-2010, 07:12 PM I think we'll be one of those middling teams that wins or loses every game by 7 points or less. I love the personnel changes and the coaching changes, and especially the QB change. It's just a massive amount of change to go through.
So many players have to learn a new scheme, new teammates, everything. We're going to have a lot of mistakes. That said, we have our fair share of athleticism and leadership.
So to me we could be anywhere from 6-10 to 10-6, with small margins of victory/loss every time. I see hope for the playoffs, but I wouldn't consider it a failure if we miss.
Be careful WAY out there on that limb. So you're saying that we will play 16 games, win some, lose some, you'll be happy if we win most but not disappointed if we don't. Seems Zornishly medium!

Haha...ouch. Go easy on him...right now, there's predictions ranging from 5-11 to 10-6 on this team so we are at a point where the best prediction about this team is that they are difficult to predict.
rbanerjee23 07-07-2010, 07:52 PM Furthermore...can we add 'Zornishly' to the list of approved adjectives for this site? :)
saden1 07-07-2010, 08:16 PM Screw it, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say there's a good chance we're going to win the Super Bowl. Right now I'm thinking there 3% chance of us winning it all but I'll have a better idea once the playoffs start.
Hail to the Redskins!!!!

Adverbs, actually...
