That is not a good sign Gus and I have thought the same thing, but damn can we really get thiswhole team together in one off season? LOL.

That is why I don't like this go heavy with the FA crap. It is more expensive, the players you acquire are looking for a payday and more likely less hungry to perform to an optimal level than a younger draftee. I like Donovan a lot, but his best ball is definitely behind him. It isn't nearly as bad as when we got Brunell after his tank was pretty much empty, but I don't feel he is at optimal performance level, especially with these newbies, in which, the FO doesn't have any confidence in.

To me the only things that really changed with the organization are the faces in the FO, another coach, and the FA acquisitions were smarter, which if you look at it really isn't much of a change for Snyder.

I voted we should get this guy if it didn't cost too much ...such as the equivalent of a 2nd and 4th...somehow funded by Haynesworth and change....but I am starting to bail on this guy....I really think that this "trade" scenario is just boredom and press to generate attention for a disgruntled WR.

I dont want a boozer on the team if we can help it...of course, if we score him cheap....I will probably change my mind!

A lot of folks thought the same way when T.O. was released in Dallas.

Lost their biggest weapon, right?

Then this kid named Austin stepped up and made some plays here and there.
Holdouts and vacant roster spots provide opportunities for those further down the depth chart.

And if the Chargers are hanging their season on whether or not Jackson is there, they have bigger scouting issues than this beef with VJ.

They have a pretty good QB in Rivers, a Pro-Bowl TE in Gates, pretty solid stable of RB's. They'll be okay.

You said they lose nothing. That's not true, which was my point. It's not like they'd have to start 10 men while he's out, but he's a helluva WR. I don't think anyone on that roster is going to step in and have his kind of impact right away. I agree that SD will be okay without out, but not as good as with him.

One could argue, why not?? If they have done this well (which is speculation at this point, but for the sake of arguement, lets give em an A- so far) during the seasono prior to the lockout, I wonder what they could do with loaded guns and a whole buttload of UNrestricted free agents possibly next year. Ill be the first one to say, some of their moves have been questionable, but why couldn't they solidify the roster at every position in one offseason?? If anyone can do it, its shanahan and his staffs mentality.

No Nonsense.

Really? You do realize he's basically stepped back and handed over the reins to Allen and Shanahan don't you? And then when you look at the way the org has reached out to it's alumni, I would say the winds of change have blown through DC pretty significantly.

trade fat albert to raiders, raiders send 2nd rd pick to sd and we get vj. every body wins.

A 3 way trade involving ah and Jackson would be the best way to get him here. IF KS feels he needs a dominant WR, I hope BA pulls whatever tricks he can. I know I keep expecting a late Sunday tweet that VJ is a Redskin...

NFL Network also reported yesterday that the Bears proposed a trade to SD for Jackson. The Bears were supposedly offering up two-2nd rounders for Jackson.

And SD said no.

That is AJ Smith for you though. He is a serious hardass as a GM. He will not give in to Jacksons hold out.

I tend to agree with you on Smith. He's a stubborn SOB. In the end I don't see VJ going anywhere. He really doesn't have much leverage in all of this.
