Can anyone think of a good reason for this:

We need military strength to curtail gun violence?

You make no sense.

According to his stats,
Every day in the U.S., an average of 289 people are shot. Eighty-six of them die: 30 are murdered, 53 kill themselves, two die accidentally, and one is shot in a police intervention, the Brady Campaign reports.

Apparently we need the military style equipment to prevent suicide.

Imagine, if mental health was taken seriously enough to reduce suicides and suicidal behavior, gun fatalities would fall over 60% - WITHOUT NEW LAWS OR CHECKS.

Just doing his job......

I actually had to research that because as much as I am not fond of cops as a whole I didn't think even the worst one would commit such as despicable act. Making an old lady who could not breath die in the back seat of a parked car, sounds like they may have saved her is it wasn't for the stupid cop. What was stopping him from giving her a code 3 ride the last mile to the hospital?

One day, when we have a truly caring society, we will budget for mental health the way we currently budget for our 'benign' police state.

A lot of the suicides are people with severe physical problems due to age or other conditions where living with pain and suffering becomes unbearable.
Euthanasia for humans needs to be legal and available in hospitals in the USA. I never understood why the family pet was allowed to die with dignity when it no longer had a quality of life, while it's owner had to spend up to the last two years wearing diapers and bedridden.

I have seen too many people, my own relatives and relatives of friends spend the last 2-5 years bedridden, mostly women 80+. All of them said they always hoped they would not wake up whenever they went to sleep. Once they realize they are never going to get out of that bed they don't want to be here anymore.

Welcome to the eugenics bandwagon, it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

Will you accept Brady campaign style numbers or do you prefer facts?
