The name Fatal Bert makes me just as annoyed as it does you. Just how that s.o.b. makes me feel. Real irritable. So when he is finally done and gone, so will his name.

THEN STOP USING IT!

I have the feeling that if we keep complaining, you'll keep saying it. Not every AH thread needs to turn into a discussion about a stupid nickname. Some of us are just as guilty as you in the attention it's getting, but I am thinking you get some thrills out of the uproar it causes.

Been hearing he is on the lake.

Not workin out.

If he shows up to training camp ( granted he is on the team ) I say work his ass off. No breaks for the fat man.

Of course he will say he has a hammy or a lower back injury, and ride the pine watching all the guys who have trashed him in the media busting thier asses to be a winning football team this year.

The guys on one of the morning show on Sirius today ( Jim Miller and I can't remember the other guys name ) were talking about AH for an hour and a half. Basically the whole day was spent on AH and the Redskins in general on Sirius today.

Alot of guys don't believe AH has much value on the trade market.

He is creating a certain amount of backlash around the NFL and I doubt you will see a contract this front loaded in the future.

I still believe that Vinny is the complete moron who put this much money front loaded into the contract and we are now the ones stuck with a player who doesn't want to play and has all the legal right to take the cash. Although it seems so ridiculous to all of us (especially those who are struggling right now) the bastard has the right to do what he wants.

So do we fire his ass and just right it off as the end of the VC/DS era completely or do they keep him and let him be this big of a distraction?

I say get what you can and get out. This is just the last of alot of bad decisions made by the morons of the old guard up there.

I really think Snyder/Allen/Shanahan need to stand up to Albert, the players union and even the league if necessary and do all they can to get his contract voided and the team repaid.

It's clearly a breach of contract.

AH will have the nflpa's support when it comes to the skins trying to get any money back from him. At the same time, I would think that some in the nflpa are not happy w/his behavior, fearing that the owners will look at this as a prime example of how contracts can be such a risk for them w/virtually no means of getting a return on their investment if a player refuses to cooperate.

A quote from Ray Lewis:

"The response is, whatever you want me to do coach, let's get it done. If you want to switch the defense because you think it'll work better in a 3-4 -- I played in a 4-3 my whole life, but we switched up to a 3-4.

"Ok, Ray, you're gonna have to take on more guards, you're gonna have to do this and that.

"Ok, coach, I'll adjust. Do I like it? Hmm, nah. But I'll adjust, so let's do it, you know what I'm saying? And through that process, I won the defensive player of the year in the 4-3 in 2000, and in 2003 I came back and won the defensive player of the year in the 3-4. So it don't matter. Bottom line. Bottom line. Football is football, man,..."

There you have it. The difference between a sure HOF player (Lewis) and one who has the talent to be a HOF player but lacks the character and commitment to his team to achieve his stated goal of becoming a Hall of Famer (Haynesworth).

If Haynesworth had dedicated himself to the program the way his teammates have done, we'd all be praising him right now and we'd be looking forward to seeing him dominate for the Redskins during the regular season. But, as it stands, most of us can't wait until he is traded or cut.

Haynesworth will never be great because, unlike Ray Lewis, he's not made out of the right cloth.

Yep, that's pretty much it right there.

Someone like Lewis plays for the love and respect of the game. He wants to be remembered for his play on the field and his impact on the game. He cares about his legacy. He gets it.

AH on the other hand is just out for the $$. Too bad because the guy could be one of the all time greats if his head was screwed on right.

Thanks for the compliment.

I would have preferred to have been wrong about him.

what gets me about AH not wanting to play in a 3-4 is the fact that Jay Ratliff (who many cowboys fans see as a DE) plays NT and has no trouble getting to the QB. We don't need no selfish players on this team. AH is done in DC.
