saden1 06-16-2010, 03:46 PM Shame of it all is that he's good, really really good. One of the best in the biz. And he can dominate from anywhere on the line if he wanted to.
If he isn't dependable how good can he be?
CRedskinsRule 06-16-2010, 03:49 PM He is good when he wants to be so that's what?? He plays 35 plays or less a game and is effective on probably 40% or less of them. If you really break it down he is sooooooooooooooooooooo not worth the money.
This is the part I hate. Don't diminish his skills because he's an idgit off the field. He played second most out of any of our DL and I know he several times just stopped the OL push so everyone else could do their thing. It's just a shame he is so much of a me first kinda guy, instead of like Fletch or Phillip Daniels. I hope Maake gets healthy and we don't miss AH at all.

Report: Haynesworth will show up for training camp
Posted by Mike Florio on June 16, 2010 2:46 PM ET
Despite his absence from a mandatory minicamp, recalcitrant Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth reportedly will show up for training camp when it opens on July 29.
If, of course, he's still on the team.
The report comes from Chris Russell of 106.7 The Fan, who cites an unnamed NFL source.
But Haynesworth won't be showing up because he's finally seen the light. Instead, Russell reports that Haynesworth hopes to avoid potential litigation with the team, which would have a better argument when it comes to trying to get money back from the player if he doesn't show up for training camp.
As we've separately heard, Haynesworth's advisers believe that his only consequence for failing to show up for the mandatory minicamp is a fine in the neighborhood of $10,000.
So if/when he shows up, he may be acting like another player from another NFC East team five years ago.
We can only hope that Haynesworth won't eventually be doing shirtless sit-ups in his driveway.

Well exactly. My point being that you have a guy like Kedric Golston, for example, who has to work his ass of (and does) to be respectable on the field and make the occasional big play. Really KG is on the field through a bit of talent but really moreso sheer determination and pride. And he knows that he has to work hard to be on an NFL field.
But then you have a guy like Haynesworth who can be, and has shown to be, so dominating when he's on the field and committed. And it's like he doesn't even recognize or appreciate how good he is, and how consistently great he could be.
SirClintonPortis 06-16-2010, 04:06 PM You can always give back the money, Albert. You get what you want. The team gets what it wants.
However, I will say that the dude(s) who gave him some false promises to get him to sign the contract also deserve some blame.
warpaint 06-16-2010, 04:08 PM AH and Grossman for Jason Campbell, Nnamdi Asomugha and Jared Veldheer.
This is better than holding on to this guy
Hope he gets traded to the Seahawks.
I like this trade get him far away with another liar P.Carroll

I bet he couldn't even be able to do a single situp right now.
tryfuhl 06-16-2010, 04:15 PM I'm done defending the guy, fuck him
CultBrennan59 06-16-2010, 04:16 PM These are the teams running a 4-3 this year. Giants, Eagles, Raiders, Seahawks, Rams, Bengals, Lions, Vikings, Texans, Colts, Jaguars, Titans, Falcons, Panthers, Saints, Bucs.
If he is to be traded this what he is looking at. As long as he isnt traded in the division its fine with me. He needs to buy his way out first. If not, give him a Gatorade bucket to sit on cuz he doesnt deserve to sit with the rest of the players.
Options:
1) Trade Albert to the Panthers for an aging declining steve smith
2) Trade him to the bengals for Chad Ochocinco
3) Trade him to the saints for Jammal Brown
4) Trade him to a 3-4 team just to piss him off
5) Trade him to the raiders for Richard seymour (haha hey who knows Al Davis is that stupid)
6) Keep him and explain to him that he's one of the highest paid players in the NFL, and that hes just making himself looking more and more like a selfish asshole each day he doesn't want to come to his job, of just doing stretches.
firstdown 06-16-2010, 04:17 PM WOOOOOOOOW.
From RI (Fletcher):
With rain falling fast, the Redskins left the field after less than 30 minutes of practice on Wednesday. Following the abbreviated practice, several players addressed Albert Haynesworth's absence, and perhaps none was as outspoken as linebacker London Fletcher, who called Haynesworth "selfish" and said the highly-compensated defensive tackle "can't be depended upon."
Fletcher is the unquestioned leader of the unit, and when he speaks, it's usually worth listening to. He didn't hold anything back when discussing Haynesworth and the defensive tackle's decision to skip the mandatory minicamp.
"I agree with the assessment that Albert has made a very selfish decision. When you play a team sport, you have to look at it and think about everybody involved in the situation. This is not golf, tennis, things like that where it's an all-about-you sport. What he's decided to do is make a decision based all about him. It's no different than his attitude and his approach to last year's defense, about wanting everything to revolve around him and him making plays. And if it didn't benefit him, he wasn't really willing to do it."
Asked if the locker room could embrace Haynesworth should he return, Fletcher said:
"Obviously, he's under contract with the Washington Redskins. From a business standpoint, I don't see them giving him $32 million and trading him or giving him away. He has the option to give the money back if he really doesn't want to be here. He could always give the money back. But once he decided to take money from this organization, he's a Washington Redskin. I say, yeah, he can come back if he shows he's willing to buy into what we're doing, if he's going to be on- board with what we're trying to do. One man is not going to stop what we're trying to accomplish this year. One man is not going to stop what we're going to accomplish this year. We've got big goals set for us this year, high aspirations. Football is going to be played with him or without him. We're going to play some good football.
Obviously, we want him to be a part of it, but he has to stop being selfish."
Fletcher said he wasn't surprised by Haynesworth's decision, given his past actions and attitudes.
"He can say what he wants to say about him not wanting to be here, wanting to be traded, things like that. There's ways he can not be a Redskin. Give the money back; I'm sure they'd take it. We'll move on without him. I want teammates who I can depend on, who I can count on, who in the fourth quarter of a situation, I know is going to be there to make a play or to do his job that the defense calls -- whether it's responsibilities holding up a lineman or penetrating a gap... I need guys I can depend on. We need people we can depend on. At the end of the day, right now, he's shown that he can't be depended upon."
Go Fletcher.
