Allen should just trade AH to another team that runs the 3-4 just to piss him off.

Patriots run a 3-4...have a player that is also demanding a trade (Mankins).

Unfortunately, they just made Wilfork the 2nd-highest paid D-lineman behind Haynesworth in March.

Wilfork at NT and Haynesworth at DE could be scary though, but I think Wilfork's big contract would keep that deal from happening.

ive said it before, ill say it again.

AH is all about the money, The man is a mercenary.

He and his agent came here in hopes of collecting 32 million over 13 months, then try to force a trade so that he can get a new, more traditional "pay as you play" contract.

Its all about money.

The remainder of his contract with the skins is nominal at 4 to 6 mill a year for the next 3 years.

Did anyone honestly think AH would play for 4-6 mil during his prime years?
Did you think he would honor the fact that he got paid 21 mil in april?

It is and always has been about money.

He and his agent thought he got get a windfall for 1 year of work then sign a new contract with a new team.

I know that after last season, bruce and AH placed an option in AH's contract that, after this year, he could opt out of the contract and become a FA if he paid back something around 18.3 mil of the 21 mil he was paid.

If AH is unhappy about the scheme and not the money, he can opt out next year and be a free agent. Of course, he would have to give up all that money and admit defeat of his plan to get paid then pull a fast one out of town.

Has anyone posted what fines the skins can leverage against AH for every day he misses mandatories? I know it was in an article within the past week.

I agree with your overall sentiment that Haynesworth is primarily concerned with money, but that theory is just preposterous. Do you really think AH would be holding out if we were running a 4-3 and he was being used in the way he wanted to be used? Do you really think the plan from the start was to come here, collect a ton of money up front and then force a trade the very next year? That's pretty far-fetched and there are no official reports, legitimate sources, questionable sources, or even rumors alleging that this was the master plan all along. Its a conspiracy theory with absolutely no supporting evidence... at best (or worst?)

Sorry to possibly rehash - but I didn't see this clearly by skimming the posts above:

How much exactly does Haynesworth lose if he doesn't show up to camp? And does anyone know if there's language in the contract to have him repay bonuses or net pay if he continues to refuse to play?

I've heard anywhere between 10 to 16K a day, which is nothing sadly. However, if he continues to hold out until the season starts, the team could go after his guaranteed money I believe. Most players, typically don't hold out into the regular season. While, I would be ok with the team to cut their losses and trade this guy, letting him hold out means the team can fine him.

Trade him to some team going nowhere that looses a lot like the Raiders or the Lions.

I would be very happy if the Skins could work out a deal with New Orleans to trade AH for Jammal Brown.

Adding Brown at OT would really help our OL and make McNabb that much more effective.

Under the circumstances, I think that would be a good trade for us. It would probably be a good trade for N.O., as well. With Bushrod, the Saints could probably get by fine without Brown and I think it's obvious now that, one way or another, AH is done in D.C.

I don't know much about Brown but isn't he injury prone?? Plus doesn't he play LT?

He missed much of last year due to injury, but I wouldn't call him injury prone. There had been some talk he would play RT here, or they could play him at LT and shift Williams over. The advantage of both is that they can play both sides

Here are my thoughts:

- We always complain that athletes are lying when they say it's not about the money. In a strange way, AH is showing that right now for him it's really not about the money

- Back in April, JLC was insistent that the Skins were actively trying to trade him...which wasn't the case

- It's wrong I know, but I'd be more upset if I expected more from AH. But this is what he does when he's not on the field. He's always complaining about something

- Been speaking to someone the last several months about AH. This person is closer to AH than Schefter to Shanahan, than Chip to Dale; and this person has been pretty consistently telling me things are blown out of proportion...until this morning when said person told me "The real issue isn't the 3-4, though he still has doubts about it. He's been told he's been bumped down the depth chart and he's upset the Redskins are making him show up before everyone else today. But he'll come around. Albert always needs to make his point before agreeing to anything"...I'm not sure how long Shanahan and Allen will give him to come around quite honestly

- I'm going to try to find some time to talk to some Saints folks today to see if there's any new development on the Jammal Brown front

- Now, we finally have a story

uhhhh, by my calculations, Haynesworth is the last person to show up for team activities this offseason. Perhaps if he'd been here for the past month with everyone else, there would be no reason for him to come in a few minutes early today to take a physical. If he came in at the same time today as everyone else, he'd have to be taking his physical while everyone else was working, putting him even further behind. TO be honest, if it were all about the money or his disatisfaction with the system, i could atleast understand where he's coming from (even if I didnt agree with it). These reasons for not coming in don't make him seem greedy. They don't make him seem lazy. They don't even make him seem like a diva. They just make him seem like a douche.

Do you see a trade for Jammal Brown as our best potential solution to the situation with AH?

Albert Haynesworth Could Be Fined $10,000 For Missing Minicamp - SB Nation DC (http://dc.sbnation.com/2010/6/15/1520247/albert-haynesworth-could-fined-Washington-redskins-nfl)

For now, the Redskins can fine him roughly $10,000 for skipping the minicamp. If he stays out when training camp rolls around, the number increases to more than $16,000 per day. They also likely will be able to pursue a portion of his signing bonus.
