ASHBURN, Va. -- Linebacker Rocky McIntosh has finally signed his one-year contract with the Washington Redskins, barely beating an NFL deadline.

The Redskins said Monday that McIntosh had signed his $1.759 million tender. The team could have reduced the offer if the restricted free agent had not signed it by Tuesday.

McIntosh is unhappy that the lack of new collective bargaining agreement kept him from becoming an unrestricted free agent this offseason. He was hoping to get a multiyear deal, but the Redskins offered him only the one-year tender.

McIntosh skipped the team's first voluntary minicamp to express his discontent, but he attended the second minicamp.

The Redskins also cut guard Paul Fanaika and kicker Justin Medlock.

This is good that Rocky has signed we all no we are thin at the LB position. Good news by the way atleast he didnt fight it.

This just goes to show how important this new CBA needs to be worked out. I couldn't live through a lock out.

yea,i guess but it seems a little childish to me. just sign the tender, practice hard and play hard and the rest will take care of itself.

I doubt that either one of the cuts are must haves

might as well clear the spot and give them a chance to land in the UFL or backups elsewhere

Unless they choose to bring in another kicker, Gano will have no competition in camp and the workload will be his alone.

I heard dude from the Washington Post asked Carlos via text if he'd be signing and he replied, "Na."

I really hate the guy, with a big Fing passion. I mean everyone gets upset with Haynesworth, but nobody pisses me off more than Carlos. I can't think of the last time he did something that stood out to me. Maybe that hit against the Browns in 08? Otherwise, all the guy does is complain in my opinion, but he's not doing anything to help. He bites on double moves, can't intercept a ball except in like every 10 tries. I just wish we'd let him go.
