These guys are amazing athletes, but its at a completley different level than football. Its not saying one is above another, they are just completley different things. For football, you have to be quick, powerful and explosive. The only thing you need in wrestling of those, is power. You need more acting ability, charisma, and " Gymnastic" type athletisim to be a good wrestler.

I agree with you on most all of those points, Gmac. However, I feel the wrestlers are in dire need of some charisma. Their catch phrases and little stunts are normally lame and I feel embarrassed just to watch them.

For a good example of how many wrestlers have a problem making a transition into another field, go check out Macho Man Randy Savage's new cd.

BE A MAN HULK!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to rip on anyone's enjoyed hobby. I'm just trying to explain where I'm coming from. If you like wrestling, then don't think I'm trying to influence you any other man. Depriving another man of his opinion would make me a horrible person. Just posting my ideas so people can see it from another perspective.

Brock is definitely diesel and works out like a machine (as most wwe wrestlers do). He kind of looks like Drago from Rocky IV on a steroids/crack combination of some sort. I think he has the strength and stamina to try out for an NFL team but you need more then that to be good and his competition will have the advantage of experience and mentality over him so I dont think he'll make it too far. He was a dominating wrestler in college though. Real wrestling not fake hehe.

I'll agree with most of the current stars. But if you go back to 1998, when the WWF was in its prime, these guys had great charecters, and a had a TON of people hooked. They have made some HORRIBLE decisions on how they run, and market things and they are suffering bigtime for it. The only reason I'm still into it, is becasue a couple of my friends who I dont see as much are into it and it gets everyone together.

while everyone knows wrestling is fake, it requires a lot more than just power. these guys have to be quick and explosive not just to protect themselves from injury but the other guy/s in the matches. both "sports" require their athletes to have great endurance as well. that being said I only see the rare exception of a wrestler becoming a pro football and only if they had previous expirience in college with a physical sport.

and on the note about why people watch, I honestly don't know why I watch lately. sure the most of the divas are very nice to watch especially the catfights in lingerie, but I digress. I think mostly its just something to help me stay connected to a part of my childhood when I thought it was all real and it was cool watching the good and bad guys fighting it out, especially the Undertaker.

ok, i'm going to sound like a wrestling dork, but some of the guys in wwe are way more amazing than the old guys of the 80s and early 90s. back then, you'd have slow ass hulk hogan and fat guys like andre the giant (rip). now there's guys like rey mysterio jr. who can do a double back flip with a 180 twist off the top rope without breaking their necks. have you seen some of the extreme wrestling shows (like ecw)? ok, these guys may not be all that athletic, but they're freaking crazy- like they would jump off of the top tier in the stadium and land on some guy laying on a table ground level.

hehehe, but seriously i don't watch as much as i did when saturday night's main event used to be on.

Brock Lesnar is huge - and would have to pass NFL drug tests. I doubt he has the physical ability to be a great player in the league. Maybe if he fattened up he would become a decent lineman.

Brock sure is a BIG boy. Would be interesting to see if he could make it. I would almost bet that he could make it. I sure agree about the drug test, maybe he ought to try baseball.

If for nothing else, he would be a novelty.
