Same shit different day...you know how it is. I was suppose to watch England vs USA live but a buddy wants to go surfing so I am. You?
We had what's called Harborfest this weekend which is in city of Norfolk Va. and the city across the river in Portsmouth. We pretty much spent the weekend out on the boat enjoying the events. Its pretty cool as we have a river taxi which will pick us up so we can go on shore and enjoy the music and events. It will also bring out friends so they can get on the boat. Its nice because Grayson is now 3 and seemed to really enjoy the boat more this weekend and will finally go in the cabin and take nap. So how is the surfing in your area? Isn't the water very cold?

Greene describes himself as a "moderate Democrat." His campaign slogan is "Let's get South Carolina back to work."[7] (http://www.thewarpath.net/#cite_note-The_Item-6) Greene favors measures to lower the price of gas (http://www.thewarpath.net/wiki/Gasoline_and_diesel_usage_and_pricing) and supports offshore drilling (http://www.thewarpath.net/wiki/Offshore_drilling). He supports a united Korea (http://www.thewarpath.net/wiki/Korea) under a democratic system of government.[10] (http://www.thewarpath.net/#cite_note-MoJo-9) He would let the Bush tax cuts (http://www.thewarpath.net/wiki/Jobs_and_Growth_Tax_Relief_Reconciliation_Act_of_2 003) expire and supports reform of the financial industry. Greene supports job creation and would increase highway construction projects and pursue alternative energy (http://www.thewarpath.net/wiki/Alternative_energy) sources. He has also called for better school facilities and pay raises for teachers. When asked about free trade (http://www.thewarpath.net/wiki/Free_trade), Greene said that he has to look into the issue further before taking a position.[citation needed (http://www.thewarpath.net/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)] On the subject of firearms, Greene said he supports the Constitution (http://www.thewarpath.net/wiki/United_States_Constitution).[6] (http://www.thewarpath.net/#cite_note-greenville-5) Greene favors winding down the wars the Middle East and "using that money for domestic programs, such as job creation, education, and Social Security."[6] (http://www.thewarpath.net/#cite_note-greenville-5)

Greene's wiki is already longer then Rawl's and his postions may help him identify with SC voters. Honestly i think i would vote for him just for the fun factor.

So what if they found thet the Rep. got green to run then made a push to get him elected. Is there anything that could be done or is that illegal in any way?

The big issue that could get him kicked out is that you have to pay the 10,400 registration fee from your own assets. He also had to sign a affidavit when he got his public defender disclosing all assets and income. Im not sure if that was before or after he paid, and I don’t think anyone knows what he disclosed, or if he did have 10k in his bank account if that would disqualify his from public assistance. But it sounds like that’s the only thing that could mess him up.
Obviously you should be able to continue your campaign if you get charged with some felonies, but I don’t know if you can if you get convicted. Also if they prove that the 10k came from someone else I have no idea how that works, and I don’t think most people are sure either. I know from a tax standpoint individuals can give 13k a year to someone without provoking the gift tax; however, the giftor techniqely has to list it on their tax return, but im not sure if they have to list the recipients ss#. So figureing out where the money came from should be a real challange unless he knows and says who gave him the money, or if the person who gave him the money is a complete idiot.
Either way I think a lot of people are wondering if a gift recipient of the 10k qualifies as your own personal money. It sounds more like to me, you or your campaign has to write the check and that it doesn’t matter where the money comes from. I mean think about it, what percentage of politicians actually earned their own money as opposed to having received a inheritance or marrying into it?

The most important thing to me is who’s gonna be the first to start selling tshirts that say: Vote Alvin Greene Senate 2010. I think you could make a decent amount, im pretty sure I would buy one for the extreme liberal in my office.

Problem is if you don't live in SC most people would have no idea who he wass. Just ask people in your office who is their senator, Vice Pres. etc... and see the responses you get. Your better off asking who's on American Idol. Its sad to say but alot of people just don't care.

So the more and more i hear about this it sounds like there is no plant, no fraud, no conspiracy. It looks like it comes down to Greene’s name being more “dulcet sounding” then his opponents name Rawl combined with his name being listed first. Which it means it really comes down to people having no idea who or why that are voting for someone. And this was during a primary, I thought only the supposedly politically knowledgeable voted. Vic Rawl is a career politician and judge, and yet in a poll before the election he held only a 4% favorable opinion among Democrats, not because they disliked him but because no one knew who he was.
Vic Rawls, who lost to Alvin Greene, had 4 percent name recognition | Washington Examiner (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/vic-rawls-who-lost-to-alvin-greene-had-4-percent-name-recognition-96209384.html)
Here is how I think you staff political offices with candidates voted in by knowledgeable citizens and largely end partisanship the way we know it.
1). Remove the (D)’s, (R)’s, (I)’s, and every other party affiliation next to the candidates name.
2). Randomize the order a candidate’s name is presented each time a new voter steps into the ballot.
The probability of a person like Rawl loosing and person like Greene winning will be negligible. Ignorant voters will be marginalized.
I personally have never voted before and likely never will. American has 3rd lowest voter turnout of industrialized countries for lower house (congressional) voting at 54%, and this is during presidential elections, not “off years” which are 15 percentage points lower. I think this is largely because people like me realize you’re wasting your time thinking you’re taking ownership in our political system. For every knowledge voter there are thousands who are completely ignorant.

If I'm correct because he is running for office these people do not have to pay him any thing for using his name. Correct?
