I mean theres only so consistent you can be when dealing w a hamstring injury. I also got to say it, I am really wishing we held onto Marko

Still don't know why he was cut, especially with this competition kick that the Shanahan's were on.

So how do our receivers rank in terms of pure speed? Is Moss the fastest? It never seemed to me like any one on our team had breakaway speed, so I just wondered where all our receivers stack up, both on the team, and against other receivers in the league.

I'd say Moss is still the fastest WR, followed by Banks (assuming he makes the team), Galloway (still think he has some speed left) T. Austin, Thomas, and Kelly. That should rank in the top 15, assuming we keep 6 WRs (doubt it). I'd bet to think we have the fastest WR's overall in the NFC East team, but speed alone almost never wins games.

He's a 7th rounder from a former staff that doesn't play special teams. Not sure there's much else to say.

TheJBexperience; I with you. In past yrs I would have said no to ever signing T.O. Although his Philli tantrum was not 10 yrs ago, I do feel he's somewhat removed from that incident but everyone loves to bring it up like he's a cancer. He is the best WR on the market at this point to which we would not have to trade or throw draft picks at to get. At this point I too would be thinking about bringing him in cause he would need time to learn the scheme and play calls.

mlmpetert; I agree with you also there's only so much you can do when injured especially with a hammy. Which brings me back to why the "F" do are players seem to always get hammies? Moss is our notorious and his seems to re-occure every yr. I hope thats not the case for Thomas. I Moss is the Hammy/Groin pull player of the team.

Warpaint; I some how doubt Kelly steps up also. I would put more money on his knees swelling again this yr and he not being able to practice .... again vs. the light switch all of a sudden switching on.

You guys are funny.... excuses, excuses, excuses.... their like A-holes and everyone has one. How about we stop making up the excuses for Thomas and Kelly at this point and admit they might not be what we expected them to be.

Why is there a Devin Thomas "inconsistency" thread and we're only in OTAs?

Because we are not hearing how Moss has been inconsistant, or Armstrong, or Banks, or even Austin. Maybe the spot light is simply on Thomas and Kelly only but I doubt it when I keep hearing about Armstrong running good routes and catching passes all day.

It's got nothing to do with excuses, these are WRs entering their 3rd seasons. It typically takes 2-3 seasons for WRs to fully blossom. How about we try to have a little patience considering we're not even into August yet?

I have to agree with you. the FO will sort it out i have faith whoever don't fit/work will get cut.

HTTR.

I'm guessing the coaching staff will figure it out but I doubt the team cuts 2 second round WR's they threw a lot of money at. Maybe they will. At least your blind faith is centered on the coaching staff being able to get it right vs. the players being able to all of a sudden become super stars.

Funny at this point I would have said Banks, Austin, Moss, Thomas, Wade and Galloway might be tied, and last Kelly. I think Moss has slowed a bit due to age and groin pulls. lol.

I am. I'm not throwing them out with the bath water just yet. I'm just tired of the "Oh don't worry they will be our #1 and #2", "You'll see they are gunna step up any day now", "this is their 3rd yr and that means they are gunna bust out" mentality. All I'm hoping for is that the coaching staff has made contingiency plans for if Thomas and Kelly don't step up, and Galloway and Wade are not my ideas of contingiency plans. I truly hope everyone is at some point telling me "I told you so."
