Sorry to waste everyone's time. I'll see you in September.

It's a worthy thread, just a little early to panic is all

:)

I like the conversation starter, mainly because Thomas is a guy who could have enormous potential (despite they naysayers' comments).

Unfortunately there's just not much substance in the reports this time of year. It's discouraging to hear about more muscle issues...our WR corp is just plagued w/ that shit year after year. Annoying!

But ultimately nothing has changed. We know Devin is a physical freak. I believe he's probably the most athletic player on offense. It's a question of skill. Can he run crisp routes? Can he learn to create separation? Can he learn to be a great receiver? At the end of the day...he's a Michigan State product, so I still like his chances :)

I apologize if I came across rudely. I was referring to JR's lack of content in his article, not your passing it on in this thread.
Thanks for giving us something to talk about. HTTR

The real question is, does he want to be a baller or is he leaning more to being some type of attention hound TMZer. A Fantasia video, Photo shoots he seems to like that stuff. I mean you can do your thang I aint hatin but I hope he has his stuff together.

Exactly that. We'll complain each day about the lack of substance in these threads.. But - let's face it, we're stretching a season that is 5-6 months long to 12 months, 365 days a year. If no one cared about this article, there wouldn't be a page full of responses about it. To quote Jim Redskin - "Thanks for giving us something to talk about."

That being said, the article is a piece of crap. <grin> New offense, new patterns, give the guy until preseason to get it before trashing him.

If he is consistently inconsistent, is that a step forward?

Now, now thats just silly. Fat Al is coming to town in mere days we have him to talk about again, it should be good this time COACH working the shit outta fat boy. Now that would be gross misconduct to miss out on that action.

Unless he doesn't show then we will have even more to talk about.....

Why is there a Devin Thomas "inconsistency" thread and we're only in OTAs?

Because of Redskins fans obsession on blaming one and just one player on everything that goes wrong.

Redskins Insider - Offense tries to match defense's progress (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/3-4-defense/offense-tries-to-match-defense.html)

Not good. I hope McNabb or someone can get in Thomas' ear. I can't believe I'm considering this, but maybe, we should sign TO.

I think its way too early to get down on the receivers, which seems like the implication of the piece.

And one small pet peeve, how the heck does Jason Reid know what the Shanahan's are looking for in terms of consistency during OTA's?

he hasn't displayed the type of play-after-play consistency the Shanahans like to see from that position.

Anyway, we all share your concern over the WR position.

Imo, its the biggest question mark heading into the season.
Can one of our young receivers step up?
The departure of ARE leaves at least 50 catches to split-up.

Will there be 1 or 2 feature receivers, or will there be more of a production by committee approach?

Personally, i think that Devin Thomas could be very successful running the same type of stuff that DeSean Jackson ran in Philly.

And take over some of Tana's targets on screens, drags, fly patterns and hitches nothing tough that requires great hands or sharp patterns or reading the defense.

If you give Thomas a package of plays that are that emphasize the skill he showed at Michigan St. i think he could blossomas deep threat/playmaker.
