This is an excellent point, and anyone who is salivating for this guy to come to DC obviously has not learned from the AH gaffe.

Yep those are the 2 points that make me leary of making a trade for the guy. Yes he can help our team and maybe give us enough for a good shot at the NFC east this year, but how much will it really hinder the Redskins in the future?

To much money involved to sign him and to high of a pick to give up to get him. One more slip up and he misses 8 games next suspension after that then a whole season. Way to much money involved for that slim margin of error or a brief slip up in lack of judgement by VJ to risk.

He is a damn good player but he has to much baggage that he would bring along, I was all for it in the beginning but not now. This is another deal that could very easily blow up in the Redskins face if the executed it, and I for one do not feel that BA would make this move.

We are already have enough character issue guys and one big fat malcontent.

To your point....what has Galloway done to be the #2?
I don't even think he's had a single catch in 2 games.
At least Williams has made some catches.
The real question is who is going to be #2?
Armstrong? DT?
The way I see it...Galloway has done nothing at this point and arguably may not even make the squad.
He is just taking critical practice time away from any long term #2 such as DT or maybe even armstrong.
Being undecided at game 3 in preseason with a new QB, new WR, new scheme is definately going to affect timing and may hurt in the first few regular season games
I agree with you 100% I haven't seen anything from Joey Galloway to make him #2. Based on performance, Armstrong is the second best receiver in camp. Thomas has been hot and cold but that's good enough to be #3. Banks is too small but might make the team as a returner. We may be looking at the new smurfs with Moss, Armstrong and Banks. Williams has dropped too many passed. Austin hasn't shown me much. Kelly has not even practice and you know, if you don't practice, you don't play for Shanahan;)

It appears that any Seattle deal for VJ has fallen through...at least for now.

So how long until Bruce Allen makes a call?

Galloway has only two things going for him, the veteran respect of his peers and the support of Bruce Allen. That may just be enough, but other than that he hasn't done anything this preseason to merit being a starter on this team.

I agree... and with that being said, I dont think a 38 year old wide receiver who doesnt have a height advantage and doesnt play special teams has any place on the team at all if he isnt a starter.

Now, I think he he'll probably make the team... but he shouldnt. If we rolled with only 5 WRs, i'd rather have Moss, Thomas, Armstrong, Kelly, and Banks/Austin. If we cut Galloway today, he'd still be available if one of our WRs suffered some sort of season ending injury.

In the post that you quoted, I said who would be #2... Regarding Williams, I don't think he has any more of a chance to be on this team than Wade.

Do you have any idea why we aren't pursuing VJ, especially now that we know he can be had for only a 2nd rounder? Next years draft is going to be crappy, so i cant imagine we're valuing that pick a ton.

Yeah, he's asking for $30 million guaranteed reportedly plus it will cost us at least a 2nd round pick.. I'm for upgrades but that's a lot of dough and capital (pick) for a guy with 2 strikes in the NFL substance abuse policy and a history of immaturity.

I like VJ but not that much. I'd pass too.

Armstrong is the only WR getting real seperation, I don't know who looks best in practice, but I know who's getting it done in the games.

Idk about VJ the guy would be out 6 games. Hell we need him week 1! Outside of STL our other games are very difficult

I believe he'd "only" miss the first 3 games if he signs a tender with some team before Sept. 4

I'm not sure he's high on our radar at the moment
