SittingBull 03-12-2004, 12:45 AM Everything Ive heard from coaches and players are quite the opposite of TO. He's a great locker room influence and he's the leader of the team. He's the guy in the weight room, he's the guy running wind sprints with everyone at home. I don't know where you grab this garbage from, but the only people I've ever heard call him a "locker room problem" are media guys looking for something to grasp onto without a better topic.
Do you not remember how much he talked trash about Garcia not giving him the ball as much as TO wanted last year? Thats one of the main reasons he wanted out and said he'd be a free agent in the middle of the season no less. You dont think thats something that would pressure players to pick sides and divide the team? If trashtalking your QB to the press and saying how you dont like the team isnt a locker room disruption I dont know what is.
One thing I thought was funny that Wilbon said today was that if Rosa Parks had TO's money she wouldnt have had to ride the bus lol
Just when I think Terell Owens has said the dumbest thing ever, he just keeps on talking.
I think the 'Niners are cashing in on a mistake made by T.O. and his agent. I think the Baltimorons are also trying to cash in. However, I cannot agree with this idea that T.O. is the "real" victim here. It is his money, his agent, his reputation and his conduct that has brought him where he is. He absolutely must shoulder some of the responsibility for what has occurred. I am not discounting the fact that this has cost him millions. I just do not buy into the false logic that says that this is everyone's fault except his. He must own some, if not most, of this mess.
Looks like we are going to go through the same thing with La Var and his contract. Does everyone think that the league and the 'skins have shafted La Var?
johnnyredskin63 03-12-2004, 07:02 PM well the way i look at TO's little slam down in dallas is this, for years the cowboys taunted teams after they scored and got by with it.what TO did down there was a little payback for butch johnson, and all those excowpokes taunting over the years.TO was raised by his grandma who now has altheimers.i bet if she were of her sound mind she would kick him square in his a$$ for comparing himself to rosa parks.

skinsfanthru&thru 03-13-2004, 02:45 AM while I will always strongly despise the cowboys, what TO did in that game not once but twice was absolutely disrespectful. I'm surprised he only got hit by one guy and not atleast a few of them. I mean would you still be saying the same thing about that display if someone did that in our stadium?
Ghost 03-13-2004, 04:34 AM If he did that in our stadium, people would go nuts. I like how Barry Sanders used to do these jaw-dropping things on the football field and then in the end zone he'd calmly flip the ball to the ref, like it was no big deal. That's cool. When you score a touchdown, act like you've been there before, someone once said. T.O is capable of the sort of plays that we all watch football for, he's a great player, so why does he need to do all that extra crap, the embarrassing showboating, the emotional outbursts? I'd say it's because he's an immature knucklehead. And that's probably why the 49ers only got a second round pick in return for one of the best receivers in the game today.

i watched the cowboys dance and go crazy at rfk all those years,so somebody has done that at our home stadium.i hate the 49ers with a passion
almost as bad as i hate the cowboys.i look at what TO did down there as payback for all the other crap i saw them do over the years all over the league.remember later in the game, emmitt smith did'nt turn the other cheek after he scored,he slammed the ball at the star and pointed to the 49er bench.was'nt that just as disrespectful?maybe i'm blinded by hate, but the cowboys deserved that and then some.TO is a great player,he just needs somebody to level him and that huge chip on his shoulder.

skinsfanthru&thru 03-13-2004, 01:48 PM I hate the cowpies with a passion 2 but what I saw emmitt do was like saying "u don't f-ing disrespect my house." I don't remember anyone doing what u described but that might have been when I was out of the country and unable to watch skins games, except mnf, for a couple of years. I remember irvin and deion doing their dumb ass dances but nothing like to where he went to the middle of the field, stood on the home teams symbol, and posed on top of it. If anyone did that at rfk or fedex I would want a redskin, or a couple of them, to do what that cowboy did except make sure u knock the guy out. there is no team I hate more than the cowboys, even though the yankees r up there, but I still believe in good sportsmanship and just because the other team acts like an jackass doesn't mean we should 2.
johnnyredskin63 03-14-2004, 08:39 AM most of the stuff i'm talking about happened beginning in the late 70s and kept up till the dave campo era.some of the stuff i saw those guys do was really crappy.it was not respectful, but whatever happens to dallas is what they deserve.i'm glad i saw him do it and i'm glad he did.if it would have been any other team i would have been pissed, but the cowpukes deserved it.
