Alright I don't start many threads and rarely are they meaningful so I thought I would start this one. Since I am so unorthodox I decided to do this on my 5001st post instead of my 5000th...alright I f'd up.
So here is the question: Over the history of the Washington Redskins which position(s) have enjoyed the most talent and why?
I will say the Defensive Backfield because all of the players listed below are part of the 70 greatest redskins.
Sammy Baugh
Mike Bass
Pat Fischer
Darrell Green
Ken Houston
Paul Krause
Mark Murphy
Brig Owens
In addition to these guys we have also seen more recently.
Champ Bailey
Sean Taylor
Deangelo Hall
Carlos Rogers
Laron Landry
Ryan Clark
Fred Smoot (before he went to Minn)
Dieon Sanders (even though he sucked then).
Edit: I forgot Shawn Springs
There are others but this post is already too long.

...and don't forget CB's Joe 'the bird' Lavendar and Lemar Parrish were also very good in their prime. I believe they were pro bowl selections back in the day?

In terms of sheer talent, WR - imagine lining up these three all-time greats as the two WRs and slot:
Charley Taylor
Art Monk
Bobby Mitchell
What team could field a better top three?

Who would you put at TE to round out the receiving corp? Didirer? Jerry Smith? Cooley?

Ok I'll play along. If thinking about throughout the yrs also I'd say position wise maybe OL, or LB. I will say we have been through our fair share of QB not all of them would be called greats though and thinking about it maybe RB.
Larry Brown
Riggins
Washington
Davis
Portis
Allen
Byner
Betts
Mitchell
There were many others probably not called great or even good. One example would be S. Alexander, I think he was a great RB just not with us. I think he was past his prime with us.
