Here is the Buffalo News story:NFL name emerges in doping case with doctor : City & Region : The Buffalo News (http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/05/20/1056021/nfl-name-emerges-in-doping-case.html)

Santana Moss, a wide receiver for the NFL’s Washington Redskins, is one of the professional athletes who allegedly received treatment from a Toronto physician charged Tuesday with smuggling muscle-building drugs into the United States, according to sources close to the case.

But at this point, federal prosecutors do not intend to file criminal charges against Moss or any other athlete who had dealings with the doctor.

That word came Wednesday afternoon from William J. Hochul Jr., U. S. attorney in Buffalo.

“At this juncture, any of the persons who are alleged to have used these substances are considered witnesses, and not targets, of this investigation,” Hochul told The Buffalo News.
...
His lawyers, including Mark J. Mahoney of Buffalo, denied the allegations of wrongdoing against the doctor. ...

“Officials of the NFL and other sports organizations can sleep soundly tonight, because there is nothing he did with these athletes to help them with performance enhancement,” Mahoney said Wednesday.

“[Galea] strictly provided treatment for injuries. If any athlete got [human growth hormone], it was injected directly into injured tissue, in very small amounts, for purposes of healing.”

Agents questioned more than a dozen American athletes about the treatment they received from Galea, authorities said.

...

Moss, 30, is not mentioned by name in court papers filed in Galea’s case on Tuesday, and the Redskins player is not charged with any crime.

An employee at the Miami Beach office of Moss’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, declined to comment when contacted by The News.

“There won’t be any comment along those lines from Santana,” said the employee, who did not give his name.
...
Galea never obtained legal permission to work as a doctor or in any other capacity in the United States, according to a court affidavit filed by Justin J. Burnham, an agent with Immigration & Customs Enforcement.
...
Galea’s then-assistant, Mary Anne Catalano, was arrested at the Peace Bridge last Sept. 14, and federal agents found banned drugs, syringes and other medical equipment in her vehicle, authorities said.

Authorities said Catalano was going to transport the drugs to Washington, where Galea was going to treat a pro football player.

Since her arrest, Catalano has cooperated with federal investigators with information about her boss and his treatment of athletes.
I cut out alot, but thought these points were interesting

More DC drama lol. Role the dice and say Jansen. I am loving this off season of the Skins with an overpaid DT, HGH druggie, oline issues are still very real, who does McNabb throw too???, picking up players with a history of domestic violence issues come on Larry Johnson seriously. I think you all have lost any say about Dallas and there issue players from the 90's.

Im know your loving the tabloid stuff, but im sure your ass is worried about coming improved play on the field this year. McNabb, Shanny, improved schemes, and better talent on the field, thats all you need to think about as this season starts to wind up. Romo and Wade aint won sh*t yet and yall walking around with the your heads up your asses...your offensive line is gonna be in a world of hurt this up coming season, so you keep thinking yall gonna coast to the division title and laughing about meaningless offseason stories...

I think you have to look at how Goodell has handled other cases in the past to predict if 'Tana (if it is him) gets punished. Roethlisberger just got suspended 6 games even though no charges were filed. So I think it's safe to say if he gets implicated in this we can expect punishment on him in some way.

true, but Rothlisberger didn't get any form of punishment until he had been accused of sexual assault - a far more serious crime - twice. i would say the average person is appauled when they hear about rape; however most people care alot less about a player allegedly taking a growth hormone to help recover from an injury. the two alleged offenses arent even in the same league. plus, the general media (not just espn, pft, etc) was all over the rothisberger cases. i doubt the possibility that tana took HGH results in more than a blip from major media outlets. i think santana would have to testify in court to taking HGH for the NFL to act. Either way, i can't imagine it being a particularly long suspension and he's not really a key player on our team, so i dont think it will really hurt us that much.

left it at 3 though I could've picked some more. You apparently went to the same school as your 90s Cowboys.

And this isn't anywhere close to hauling bricks, sorry.

And here's the ESPN article, in case folks want to avoid any smartass comments from Florio.

Report: Santana Moss of Washington Redskins got HGH from Galea - ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5204001)

Not a good move by Santana if indeed this is all true. Regardless of whether he's an important player or not, this is a going to be a pretty big distraction for the team (even bigger than the non-story related to certain defensive lineman that the media and bitter fans are keeping alive). I also wonder if he will be suspended. Also, are there other players involved in this?

"Anonymous sources". You want to believe them, but can't fully commit. Doesn't look good for Moss though. Too strong a correlation.

Well not much the sources, but this interview that Moss had with Jason Reid just didn't look good. Like I said, if true, this doesn't look good for Santana.

Can they suspend him if he did not test positive for it?

According to Reid he doesn't need to test positive. He cites the Rodney Harrison case where Harrison admitted to Goodell about using HGH. I don't think it'd be in Santana's interest to lie to Goodell about this, just fess up and take the punishment.
