CRedskinsRule 05-12-2010, 04:54 PM Westbrook going to visit Denver according to Adam Schefter (per Twitter). ya think;)? Adam_Schefter Sounds like Denver is serious on RB Brian Westbrook, who suddenly has options with the Broncos, Redskins, Rams and who knows who else. 53Fan 05-12-2010, 05:51 PM Wow. Deja vu. Ruhskins 05-12-2010, 05:52 PM ya think;)? You beat me by a minute. 44ever 05-12-2010, 06:35 PM I would be really happy to have Westbrook here! tryfuhl 05-12-2010, 06:37 PM Even if the Redskins have no intention of signing Westbrook, this is a good way for him to keep his name out there. Thinking there is still an interest in him can only work to his benifit. that's what I told a customer today that comes in and talks sports.. he was already due to be in the area to do the speaking thing with Bruce Allen, putting word out there that we're considering him for a spot keeps his name fluffed up ethat001 05-28-2010, 11:31 PM While we're collecting the best 2006 RB class, perhaps we could pick up the best 2006 QB's as well. Trade for Roethsliberger and Marc Bulger anyone?? Brian Westbrook Wants To Join Redskins (http://www.myfoxphilly.com/dpp/sports/eagles/052810-brian-westbrook-wants-to-join-redskins) Former Philadelphia Eagles start Brian Westbrook says he wants to be part of the Washington Redskins organization. There is one catch: the Redskins have not offered Westbrook a contract. Westbrook told NFL.com that he had a great interview in Washington two weeks ago and he really wants to play in D.C. "It went really well," Westbrook said of his talk with the Redskins. "I enjoyed them and the coaching staff. I'd love to be a part of that organization. They have a quality organization -- I just have to find out if I can fit into their system." Westbrook, 30, played alongside Donovan McNabb in Philadelphia for eight seasons. The big question is why would the Redskins sign Westbrook if they already have three veteran running back on their roster: Clinton Portis, Larry Johnson and Willie Parker? McNabb is rumored to be a force behind the Westbrook tryout. The relationship between Portis and new coach Mike Shanahan could be an issue. Shanahan traded Portis to Washington when he was the Denver Broncos head coach in 2004. Portis, 28, missed much of the 2009 season with a concussion, as did Westbrook. Johnson and Paker signed free-agent deals with Washington in the offseason. Westbrook's brother, Byron, plays for the Redskins and the Westbrook brothers grew up in the Washington suburbs. Darrell_Green_28 06-01-2010, 09:41 PM Think we offered him something, as well as the Rams and Broncos, he's supposed to decide soon. Brian Westbrook Ready To Make A Decision Soon - NFL - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=tsn-brianwestbrookreadyt) Hog1 06-01-2010, 10:14 PM He'll be a Redskin soon. McNabb will turn the deal....... SBXVII 06-02-2010, 12:12 AM ^ I don't think McNabb has to do much or will have much to do with it. The selling points are .... 1- He grew up in the area. 2- His brother is on the team. 3- The Redskins have the best RB core. All he has to do is be the 3rd down back. 4- The Redskins offer the best situation to get a ring. |
