does anyone know how much cover 2 Haslett runs, if any?

I believe Haslett have packages that will require some specific players to play all positions, depending on their skills.. For example, Laron - he can set up at LB area as LB but then plays as SS during the play.. It's just matter of different strategies, not a big deal.. Unless those strategies sucks..

Edit: DirtBag pretty much got it, I was SS in HS and college (nothing big) but some plays I played FS.. It all depends on players' skills and how coaches utilize them..

That's pretty much the way Hasslett described his use of the safety positions.

The game has changed so much from it's early concepts regarding strong & free safety, a time before the two positions had a class distinction. DC's now deploy the psitions in a variety of ways. Strong origionally got it's name by a safety almost always lining up on the strong side of the formation covering the T/E exclusively....where the FS was freed-up to help double with the corner when necessary. Now, with so much pre-snap motion, audibles and three/four W/R sets, DC's are finding more creative ways to utilize the two positions.

I wouldn't judge our free safety positon by what was done in the past. They left free safeties on islands like they were corners under Blache. I think Reed can help double, but I wouldn't want him one on one with a wide out or an elite TE.

well you all probably think i'm crazy, but my gut still tells me that we trade haynesworth before the season. maybe we pick up a FS in the deal. or maybe there's a surprise cut in June and we pick up a FS that way. i just dont feel like we'll go into the season with what we have. i also think doughty or horton gets cut.

They dropped deep, but I wouldn't call that on an island, they were only one on one if the CB let the wr go, but that was not the case most of the time. If the route went that deep usually the CB went w/the wr & the safety was his help.

I don't think it's crazy at all to think AH gets traded. I don't know about getting a safety. I would hate to see Doughty or Horton cut, but they both bring similar abilities & limitations, might be a luxury we can't keep.

It'd be easier to pick up Otogwe. Honestly, a Haynesworth trade is wishful thinking and it'd be really stupid for the team to do this at this point. Given this stupid perception that there's a horrible rift and that he's a problem and everything Jason LaCanfora and Mike Florio are reporting, teams are probably willing to sit and low ball the Redskins in any trade offers.

I'd cut Landry before I'd cut either one of them. They're cheaper and just as good, maybe better.

Anything could happen with a new staff I guess, but Doughty has really turned into a solid player, I don't see him getting cut. He's the kind of hard working overachiever coaches love.

I'm hoping for big things from Moore. It's time for him to step up and contribute.

I don't agree w/that. Apparently he wasn't traded because teams wouldn't meet the skins demands. If there is still the desire to trade him & someone meets demands, it will get done & it could be good for us. A training camp injury could spur some offers a la the J. Taylor trade in 08, only we would hopefully be on the better end this time.

given Allen's fiscal discipline to this point, I think he's set the trade bar for AH fairly high realizing that the danny has already spent a lot of $ on him. If we can't get value for him then they'll just try & get their money's worth on the field.

This is the ideal trade: AH for J. Brown & NO pays us a portion of Brown's signing bonus in a new deal w/the skins.
