He said it was between him and the rookie. I think it is BS. I would hope if BMW is a starter and makes the roster the rookie should have to get another number. The joking explanation is very plausible. The Goat 05-08-2010, 08:21 PM Trent has #72. Mike Williams has #71. Mike Williams has been oft injured during his career. I highly doubt he plays the whole season, so hopefully Chad Rhindehardt-atart is ready to kick some ass. I mean the kid was a friggin mauling LT in college. I know we was in the lower division but he's had 3 years to adjust and playing RG is much easier than LT. ...or I guess we could move Hicks to RG and bring Heyer off the bench to play RT :( Dirtbag59 05-08-2010, 10:21 PM Mike Williams has been oft injured during his career. RIGHT GUARD Without question the most difficult of the interior line positions, right guards are most likely to be left one-on-one with an elite inside rusher. The predominance of teams to slide their center to the left to protect the quarterback's blind side creates a greater value for the right guard position. Fourteen-year veteran Todd Steussie, currently available on the free agent market, says, "Right guard is definitely harder than left guard." Recently-retired lineman Todd Fordham, a 10-year NFL vet, agreed: "The left guard always has help." Though the difference in value between the two guard spots is lessened somewhat in an offense that rarely slides the pass protections like the Colts, the strength of the formation often dictates that the right guard has the wider alignment, and thus more difficult assignment, on his side. It was a good one! But still RG easier than LT...the young kid needs to get movin rbanerjee23 05-09-2010, 01:22 PM Not super promising, the stuff about T. Williams; i understand he has to grow and the pace is going to go up but I sure hope that we don't regret passing on Okung. The thing that concerns me most is the lack of fire from this guy - I didn't hear anything about him saying that he is going to bust his butt to get better, only that he thinks he'll adjust, he knows he's facing competition, just lackadaisical bs NYCskinfan82 05-09-2010, 03:15 PM Not super promising, the stuff about T. I think it all comes down to coaching & desire. The Goat 05-09-2010, 08:53 PM He has the same demeanor as Chris Samuels IMO how did that turn out. I think it all comes down to coaching & desire.
