SBXVII 05-15-2010, 03:06 PM Ok, I hate sending people to this site but this was an interesting take. In case you don't get it "PD93" is Phillip Daniels. He showed up to set the record straight. Hope this eases some of the animosity about AH. Hello Skins Fans. This is PD. - EXTREMESKINS.com (http://www.extremeskins.com/showthread.php?t=323749) Nobody police's the reporters they can say whatever & it's OK. ESPN has gotten way to BIG IMO. skinsfan_nn 05-15-2010, 04:29 PM ESPN.com Snyder: Haynesworth absence not OK Associated Press WASHINGTON -- While he's "disappointed" with Albert Haynesworth, all else seems fine with Dan Snyder after a rough year as owner of the Washington Redskins. Snyder acknowledged a different vibe and a cultural change now that he's appointed Bruce Allen as general manager and Mike Shanahan as head coach. "It was necessary," Snyder said Saturday at the dedication of an inner-city football field that has been refurbished by the Redskins and the NFL. "We were 4-12 and going in the wrong direction, and all the changes are to get us going in the right direction. Obviously with the pedigree and the success of the people that I've brought in, you can tell we're going in the right direction. I'm real excited about it." In the last five months, Snyder has ousted longtime front office head Vinny Cerrato and fired coach Jim Zorn. The changes came with a price: The owner known for his hands-on approach has given Shanahan the final say over the roster. NFC East blog Mosley ESPN.com's Matt Mosley writes about all things NFC East in his division blog. • Blog network: NFL Nation Snyder downplayed the change in his role. "I think the approach has always been a little more hands-off than probably written about or reported about," he said. Snyder cited the leadership of Donovan McNabb and nodded "We'll be OK" when asked about the status of getting the new quarterback a contract extension. McNabb's current deal expires at the end of the year. Haynesworth is another matter. The Redskins have paid the two-time All Pro $32 million in guaranteed money over the last 15 months, but he skipped two voluntary minicamps this spring and stayed away from all of the team's offseason workouts mainly because he's unhappy with the switch to a 3-4 defense. "Yeah, I'm disappointed he's not here. Absolutely," Snyder said. "We're expecting our players to lead by example, and we're expecting our players to understand that they're Redskins and they need to be there." Haynesworth is expected to attend the mandatory minicamp next month. JLee9718 05-15-2010, 04:30 PM AH hasn't done enough to have earned the $32M. Maybe with Allen and Shanny we'll get some players who care about teamwork, not individual stats. No more AH's or CP's! SmootSmack 05-15-2010, 04:55 PM Nobody police's the reporters they can say whatever & it's OK. ESPN has gotten way to BIG IMO. I know this will look like I'm simply blindly defending ESPN but what PD is referring to I'm sure is more so his interview with Mike Wise of the Washington Post, not ESPN. washingtonpost.com (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/05/09/AR2010050903014.html) Furthermore, and again I know like it will come across as I'm blindly defending the media, the problem is more often than not readers'/viewers'/listeners' gross misunderstanding of what's been reported (BHA I'm looking in your direction) than what is actually written or said. Bottom line just about everyone with the Redskins knows how important AH is to the team, they don't agree with his decision but they respect it and that's that. Nothing more, nothing less tdSKINS1 05-15-2010, 05:00 PM Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder 'disappointed' in Albert Haynesworth - ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5191282) mlmdub130 05-15-2010, 05:05 PM what a stupid f-ing article. f espn it's like some one turned in a positive article about the skins and the editor said wait lets put some hayneworth shit in there it is the skins afterall. i'm so sick of this crap and can't wait for the season to start so we can get past this crap BigHairedAristocrat 05-15-2010, 05:47 PM I dont understand what it is ive grossly misunderstood |
