Is Eli Kicking Himself Now?

Do you think Eli has second guessed his decision to ask for a trade to the Giants? Look at the difference between the two teams now. Yeah, Eli would be a backup behind Drew Brees also but isn't Brees a free agent next year, looking to move on? How many years did Warner sign on for? Anyway, whenever he does start playing, if I were him I would rather hand the ball off to Tomlinson over Tiki anyday. What do you guys think?

If I'm not mistaken Warner's deal is only for one year so Eli is the man next season

On a somewhat related note, I heard that the Chargers GM said not to rule out the possibility that the Chargers might keep Brees and trade Rivers in the offseason. Anyone else heard this?

first off, i believe coughlin was very very close in bringing Eli in last game vs the bears, atleast thats what i read. second, the way tiki is running this year, i dont think its to bad to hand the ball off to him. he still got two TD's if im not mistaken vs the bears. and tomlinson wasnt even close to a factor vs the saints and SD still beat the hell out of the saints. LMAO, did anyone see that Aaron Brooks pass that went backwards towards one of his tackles??? that was so funny, and he couldnt even hit his fat lineman from 3 yards away, and the ball goes 20 yards backwards and SD picks it up, and i think it was a TD.

and last, i didnt hear about rivers possibly being traded, but i like that kids gameplay. to bad his attitude isnt worth sh*t.

Eli Manning chose New York because they have an owner willing to work hard to put a team around him. The Chargers had a lot of things come into play this year. THe excellent play of Antonio Gates, the line playing much better than expected, and their defense started to gel. LT has actually been much less effective this year, but still a beast.

I think Eli stands by his decesion. It was more of the people who run the Chargers he didn't like. I think he also thought he'd have a coach turnover this year, which probably won't happen.

Eli will be the starter next year and he could end up taking over at some point this season. The Chargers will be in a tough spot next year, my guess is they stick with Rivers though. As great as Brees is playing right now, Rivers has more upside.

Did anyone else see the piece ESPN had on Brees the other night? When Rivers was drafted he obviously wasn't happy, but he didn't sulk and instead it made him work even harder in the offseason. He hired a personal trainer and nutritionist and basically worked his tail off. If he keeps that same attitude next year he should be a quality pickup for someone.

Eli made the right decision coming to NY over San Diego. NY is a HUGE market & San Diego is a small market.
Eli will have the NY exposure & bright lights at his back 24/7.

Imagine if Brett Farve played for NY over Green Bay, now he's a superstar, but in NY he would have been a megastar.

Everything in NY is amplified, that's why so many good players come to NY & fail under the pressure. In NY you have to be on your game 100% of the time or the press will punish you like a redheaded stepchild.

The question here is can Eli handle NY's BIG City Bright Lights....?

Both N.Y. Giants and S.D. Chargers may be kicking themselves for not picking Big Ben Roethisberg. I never understood why Manning and Rivers were picked ahead of Big Ben. I really liked the way Ben R. played in college. Manning and Rivers are great, but Ben R. was special.

Eli wanted to be in NY because it's a bigger market an worth more to him in his overall compensation. San Diego is also a historically wretched franchise.

Coughlin has very little tolerance for turnovers and is definitely looking for instant success and Manning will not be able to deliver instantly in this division. warner has 12 lost fumbles this year (not even counting ints), so i don't see how eli could do much worse...
