johno 05-03-2010, 07:08 PM Sometimes I think people forget that there are only 99 usable numbers, and they are very restricted by position.
i think about that all the time. we can only covet numbers for so long, before they are needed again. i am all about recognizing greatness, but new guys flying around in 84 doesnt bother me.
wolfeskins 05-03-2010, 07:19 PM agree.
as long as no one's runnin around in 81 i cant get too fussed about it.
agree, i would add 44, 28 and 21
SmootSmack 05-03-2010, 09:14 PM Isn't 67 available?
CultBrennan59 05-04-2010, 03:09 AM Morris wore 49 at LaT strange he gets same jersey number as Moore...maybe Kareem gets pinked slipped like others today!
Right now he's our starting FS, so I don't think so, especially with LaRon as our starting SS... (and Doughty is a SS as well as Horton)
CrustyRedskin 05-04-2010, 08:37 AM Did you have an issue with Marko Mitchell wearing #84?
Never saw the kid on the field, missed the preseason games and refused to watch the last half of the season, i Didnt even know he had it.
I think every number should be allowed to be worn, except for the only officially retired number of course, #33. This whole thing with unofficially retiring numbers is getting silly. It should be officially retired or in active circulation, no in between. There are plenty of ways to honor players, put their name in the ring of honor and move on.
SBXVII 05-04-2010, 10:32 AM So right now we have...
#11 Thomas
#12 Kelly
#13 Armstrong
#18 Austin
#19 Wade
#83 Hagans
#84 Galloway
#87 R.Williams
#89 Moss
They should have gave Hagans #17. That way we would have had an 11,12,13, then 17, 18, 19. Then made Galloway #88 so we would have had 87, 88, and 89.

I'd guess Darryl Clark will wear his PSU #17.
Rainy Parade 05-04-2010, 11:47 AM Oh, I thought 44 was also officially retired. I wouldn't want to see a scrub get the #44 unless he is the #1 rated RB out of college.
even then... CJ Spiller? Darren McFadden?
dont think so.

yup.
add 81 and 28 and maybe a couple others and then be done with it.
