Bash BP hell yeah...
If the rig does not fail, BP profits. But when a mistake happens it affects us all.
That's a trend I am getting tired of. It is not capitalism at all.
Invade Iraq if they greet us a liberators then Big Oil is super wealthy. If it fails we are all in danger from terrorists.
Wall Street casino mentality. If they win they win not we win. If they fail we fail not them.
This time they went to far. There is not enough money in the world to fix this mess. The Gulf of Mexico is a gift from god we sacrificed for profits. Not profits for our country but profits for some share holders. but our country is gonna pay the balance.

Free Market jerks are liars. they don't want capitalism they are taking advantage. Capitalism is taking a risk, they are not taking any "alone" yet if the gamble works they "profit alone".

This is a new form of socialism. Collectivist risk individual profits.

You need to re-read Adam Smith, you really don't understand what pure capitalism is. I have seen you post a few times with your understanding of Capitalism, once in relation to outsourcing to China. Each time you describe capitalism incorrectly.
To be clear, I am not knocking your ideas, only your understanding of what "Capitalism" in its pure form is.

Sorry if I offend, but I get passionate when i see negligence like this, with a company who have the resources and big money behind them. I expect better.

Passion is good, but again I ask you, once this incident occurred, what could BP do that they haven't done?

To me, it seems like they have committed to using all there resources to stop the leak, they have sent teams to their other rigs to look for any signs and for any clues, and they have acknowledged responsibility.

Ok while at lunch I was reading the papper and it occured to me that I was wrong and Obama has been jsut sitting there doing nothing for the last 7 days. While this is all on BP our goverment has the duty to protect us and Obama is failing. Finaly yesterday Obama (after 7 days of doing nothing) has committed all the resources they have to containing the spill. Ok, but why did you wait 7 days when it is now just off the coast and not when it first happened? Then on my way back to the office I hear Obama on the news say he will get his first reports from people on the ground later today. OK now its 8 days and he is getting his first reports from people there. Wow, great response time. I hope my local firedepartment is just a little faster. I'm not blaming Obama for this but I do blame him for not responding sooner and using the equipment the federal goverment and states own.

So what part don't I understand? People keep crying capitalism while they making money, but cry socialism when they go broke? Making money and ogin broke are both a part of capilaism. How can we say our system, is better than everyone else when we are not truthful about our capitalism?

You where the guy just saying they are making record profits. Now when I question why Obama waited 7 days before doing anything no one has any answer for that. I got this from a boating site I visit from time to time and this is what someone says BP is doing as part of trying to control this. I have no clue if its correct but it did make sense.

BP is building a dome (think Umbrella) and we will lower it on drill pipe until it is just above the upper end of the drill pipe flowing oil into the sea. Since oil floats in water, the oil will float up into the umbrella - like an inverted funnel, then into the drill pipe and up to the rig 5000 ft. above. I assume there will be a submersible pump at the top of the umbrella to promote good flow. The Enterprise is equipped with special hull tanks that can hold 135,000 barrels (1 barrel = 42 gallons) of crude. The well is flowing about 5000 BBLS per Day now. At that rate it can bunker 27 days worth. The Enterprise also has crude oil off loading capabilities with a floating transfer hose. As its tanks get full, it will transfer the crude to shuttle tankers that will transfer the crude oil to shore. With dynamic positioning capabilities, the Enterprise can stay within a 12 ft. circle of being dead over the drill pipe end 5000 ft. below it. I will guess that the dome is being built 30 or 40 ft. in diameter. It can maintain station in as much as 90 knot winds across the bow. And we use our thrusters to also weather vane the rig so the wind is always over the bow. So, it can maintain station in a moderate hurricane.

Actually BP downplayed the severity until yesterday. They falsley reported what was going on. who knows what's going on 1 mile beneath the ocean?
