I guess Obama better get headed to the Gulf Coast. see above post
HAHAHAHA! Try to blame Obama for this mess, just try it. No more drilling around here. There are plenty of oil reserves in the deserts of the world we don't ahve to destroy our precious gulf coast. Just pay for the oil you want instead fo assssinating presidentrs and trying to colonize Arabia.

BP needs to get there ass in gear and take care of this bullsh*t yesterday. Being that their as of DEC 2009 the 5th most profitable business in the world, they should afford be able to contain this, but these piss poor bastards cant even stop the leak at this point. Its really unbelievable they are not prepared to deal accidents, because they do happen. I hope with the "drill baby drill" mantra in Va being spewed, the Governor will take a look at this disaster and hold the companies to a higher safety standards and get assurance when accidents do happen the response is better than this.
Did you even read the article and all that BP is doing to contain and clean this up. The reason the leak is so bad is that a safty valve that is supose to cut off the oil failed. If we find out that is because BP did not maitain the equipment then bash away but until you actuall have some facts stop making stuff up.

So you are content with $5-$10/gallon gas, or would that be the man trying to oppress the world. Yes you are right, we should not try to use the resources available in our own sphere of influence, silly politicians...

I'm glad BP is slated to foot the cleanup bill. Not sure this has an impact to "proposals." Obama proposed is nowhere near actionable so there is time to reverse. All he has to do is say "After this disaster we'll going to re-think these proposals." Plus Dems haven't passed laws allowing for off-shore drilling yet. Whatever happens can bet the GOP will oppose them.
Well as a person who is for offshore drilling I want a full investigation into this accident and how to prevent this from happening again before they start drilling off VA.

Both BP and Pres Obama have said that BP will foot the entire bill. Hopefully, they will not use that as political cover. The eco-nuts used 3mile island as "political cover" to effectively shutdown nuclear energy and now we are decades behind where we could have been.

I dig "no tough standards and regulation no nuclear power plants or off-shore drilling...coal mines with safty violations shouldn't be allowed to operate." You?

Dude once again you need to read before you post. SS was just responding to this comment and did not blame anything on Obama.
Every asshole who ever chanted 'Drill baby drill' should have to report to the Gulf coast today for cleanup duty

Set solid standards, regulate "appropriately", penalize those who fail to meet standards, and utilize our resources effectively. Seems like a rational policy could be achieved. No?

If the shoe fits I've got no problem, just thought the tweet was funny, wasn't taking sidesI'm with you, this really shouldn't turn into a huge political debate. We've got a major ecological disaster on our hands, let's get all resources necessary to handle the problem and worry about the who/what/why later.
