The point is this is America, alot of cultures contributed. English is not a requirement to be Amercian. English culture, religion, or none of that. america is huge and different areas of Amercia are dominated by different cultures. Gee whiz this is not England this is America and that is my only point. It's a unique situation because we have a unique history, get over it. The unique history built this place, before your ancestors got here 3 generations ago.

and I totally agree with you. I misunderstood you. I thought you were insinuating something to the fact that if we wanted to live someplace that spoke English only we should come to New England. For what ever reason I also thought you were refering to New England possibly not having any bones in their closets. Which was why I pointed out the northern states to include New England as being slave states and how they continued with slavery even after the southern slaves were freed.

I'm not sure what the answer is with the immigrants of today? Do we give amnesty, make them become citizens, and pay into our tax system and social security? or do we not allow them and when they get old and need help either medically or to live we simply pay out of everyones pocket for which they didn't pay into? I can tell you go talk to a cop and for all this hard work they are doing when they finally get someone shipped back to their country, with two weeks the individual is right back in America back on the street. Thats a lot of money spent to get them out, housing, plane flight, man power, to simply have them right back two weeks later.

We need to secure the border, but this area has always been the way it is. As for those here illegally, some can stay some can't staty. not all these illegal imigrants are good. We have no right to ask someone for their papers because they look like they may be Mexican. This is America we don't get down like that.

But we do have the right (and law enforcement has the responsibility) to ask for immigration status in the event someone has broken the law. The AZ law is to do away with the "sanctuary city" model, not to stop a father taking his kids to get ice cream and ask for papers.

Two teenage girls died a couple of years ago in Va Beach because of non-enforcement of immigration laws and I'm sure many other cities have similar stories.

I wanted to point this out today...lol. Why would Arizona care what LA thinks about their new law?

Here is my issue. I don't live there. I'm not right in the mix of all the problems. I don't feel I should have a say in what the "Americans" can and can't do who are actually going through the problems.

I will say that what irritates me more then anything is the fact that people fail to realize illegal immigrants do not have the same rights as Americans. I still can't figure out how or why "Citizen rights" quickly got meshed and confused with "Human rights." When you look at the Amendments those are rights designated for "Citizens." Especially the Bill of Rights. Only refers to Citizens. If your not a "Citizen" those rights don't apply to you. The Feds, local police, ICE whoever are not breaking any laws agains illegals when they don't have those rights granted to them. The only people who might have a leg to argue about is the "legal immigrants." If I was of hispanic origin and kept getting stopped and harrassed about papers I might get upset.

In my book, Human rights should only pertain to making sure they are not bleeding to death. Otherwise, ship them back.

I do find the rules regarding Cubans funny and unfair compared to other illegal immigrants. If the Cuban makes it to the US and touches soil they can stay. No one can deport them. lol.

I stand corrected. I don't agree with it but I'll admit I was wrong.

Civil and political rights were among the first to be recognized and codified. In many countries, they are constitutional rights and are included in a bill of rights or similar document. They are also defined in international human rights instruments, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

Civil rights include the ensuring of peoples' physical integrity and safety; protection from discrimination on grounds such as physical or mental disability, gender, religion, race, sexual orientation, national origin, age, immigrant status, etc; and individual rights such as the freedoms of thought and conscience, speech and expression, religion, the press, and movement

Again I don't agree with it. If your a citizen then obviously these rights should apply to you, but how on earth should these rules apply to people who show up from another country uninvited and automatically receive same and equal treatment as citizens? I'm not refering to people who are allowed to come or stay and have green cards and are attempting to become citizens, I'm talking about the illegal that walks across the boarder today and automatically should receive these rights.

Los Angeles is broke why should AR care. LA better be ready because alot of illegals will be moving out of AR because of this law and will be moving to friendly cities like LA. LA is allready broke and this will just make things worse. If I was a mayor or governor of a boarder city or state to AR I'd atleast start talking tough to try and prevent the flood of illegals coming to my area.
