The principal's last name is Rodriguez. Just saying...
In reality it is disrespectful to use the American flag to taunt people. Wearing an Amercian flag is not the issue. People make it seems like our American flag was outlawed or something. No matter what side of the issue you are on. Our flag should not be used to pick at people. That's why so many people hate the confedearte flag. I couldn't image crips allowing people to use their flag for anything other than representing their set. Wow, on confederate history day let's all wear Amercian flags to confront the confederacy. That would be missuing the Amercian flag. Right???? So many southerners cower to the skin heads and Klansmen galavantaing around with their precious heritage and never say a thing. So when their flag is associated with hate they look surprised. I don't see them protesting the klan using their flag. Unless they are the same people. hmmmmmm.

well the American flag is a bit different than a "crip" flag.. a confederate flag.. or whatever flag that isn't representative of the country

U don't use the American flag for something trivial as taunting Mexicans on Cinco de Mayo. Their school is not a battle field. How is the Irish flag treated on St. Patty's day?

The vast, vast majority of Mexicans don't give a damn about Cinco de Mayo!! Look it up. In the USA, Cinco de Mayo is kind of like Valentine's Day. A corporate hype job to sell alcohol just like V-day is to sell cards/flowers/chocolate. Maybe the motivation of those kids who wore the American flag shirts was misplaced, but the bottom line is you should NEVER be sent home from school in this country for wearing our flag. Ever. Should the school have lowered the American Flag from their flagposts on May 5th? It would be one thing if some Americans living in Mexico City paraded around in those t-shirts. But this is the US of A. Under no circumstances should our colors be suppressed within our borders for any reason. It's heading down a dangerous path if we sell our own national pride short on our own soil at the expense of a foreign nation. I don't give shit what the event is.

Look you trying to make cinco de mayo seem like an invasion be realistic. National pride? They should be sent home for disrespecting the American flag.

You're just putting words into people's mouths. Nobody said anything about taunting hispanics including Mexicans. St Patty's Day is a gimmick holiday in America much the same as Cinco de Mayo has become here; what does the Irish flag have to do with it? We're talking about the American flag, has anybody been sent home for that?

Says alot about our nation when kids wearing the flag are sent home and mexican kids can keep wearing their shirts/flags. I guess thats why we have to push one to speak english.
