Garcia made him a stud in 2007. He keeps himself in great shape. This is a great signing.

Bottom line: this is a low risk/high reward move, if he makes the team awesome, if not no loss on our end. I doubt he makes it (the Pats cut him last yr) but I like the competition and he "could' take the 5 WR spot.

I still want TO, I dont care what anyone says, if we signed him, I would officially be comfortable with going into this season. TO, Santana, Devin Thomas and Malcom Kelly. We would be set, keep Marko and Austin if he does his thing in the preseason.

Relax, were just waiting for his $ to come down a few Mill. then he will be here. He currently want aprox. 6M. to sign. Once he agrees to 3.5M - 4M He's a Redskin. Unless the Bengals bite at 6M

What about Billy "white shoes" Johnson? Was he not available? I say Charlie Taylor last winter he looked like he still had a few catches left in him.

Wow, yet ANOTHER 30-something player signed past his prime. How many does that make this off-season?

Kemoeatu
McNabb
LJ
Parker
Ryan
Galloway

Remind me again what has changed since Allen became GM?

Well other than McNabb, the rest are role players, not signed to splashy contracts, but performance based and easily cuttable. The FO isn't on a free for all spendfest, but bringing in young UDFA's and veteran talent in order to find the right mix is not the same as our past FO's plan.

meh who cares

Maybe he gives us something, maybe he's cut before the season.

While I concur that the contracts are indeed more easy to swallow than in years past. My concern is as I look around the rest of the NFC East, the other 3 teams are getting younger, whereas the Redskins are getting older.

I'm sure the lack of draft picks in recent years plays a part in that. So when you look at the shear number of over-30 vets signed this year, some of not most will be seeing significant playing time.

I am sure that Skins and Skins fans truly appreciate your concern.

Obviously a lack of draft picks played a part in it. The "shear number of it" doesn't follow, since currently we have at least 80 people under contract, of which 53 will be on the final roster and only 45 on any gameday (I know you know that), so just under half the bodies in camp won't make it, and it's easier to bring in older players like Galloway for a serviceable camp body because you don't have to really spend time teaching him the basics, like you would an undrafted FA. Camp bodies have to come from somewhere, and if some do make the final cut (as I am sure they will) I doubt it will suddenly overwhelm what youth we do have.
