What a week it was, Starting on April Fool's Day, its legacy shall be never ending (as the thread itself appeared to be!)
Starting from the beginning we knew that the thread had alot of potential with Hooskins first post:
Cooley got traded for a second.
ah the joy he brought us! Growing by nearly 200 posts we saw good stuff about Erik Cook who we drafted, and others that first week. But little did we know our little week 5 would grow beyond its potential, and become longer than Dallas Week.
But its growing wasn't without problems, very soon we saw that there was a mod who shall remain nameless say:
April is voluntary mod time, I ain't got to do sh.. You got a problem with it, take it up with the moderators union and 53Fan was frustrated:See this is the kind of attitude I'm talking about. What happens when TheMalcolmConnection or one of the other mods decide if [the lazy mod] doesn't have to participate, they don't either? No team mod chemistry. When the season starts there's gonna be total chaos around here. Freakin' prima donnas. but of course the mod had his defenders in 44ever:IDK, Maybe he thinks because he's the highest paid Mod, he can skip voluntary mod sessions.
I've heard rumors that he is secretly Mod training with his own private Mod trainers and expects to be in top moderator form come opening day.
Who' to say he didn't plan this months ago. We need to STOP speculating and just let wait and see.
I will say this: To even whisper trading the BEST mod we have had in 6 years is crazy.
BTW how can I get his Avatar? even while the mod was being contacted by other sites:I was actually approached about taking a job with the Redskins that would have put me in charge of, among other things, Extremeskins.
But our thread grew past this and continued to make us proud that we were a part of Week 5, including breaking the news of our home opener:Just read on Matt Mosley's NFC East blog on ESPN we might be opening up the season at home against the Cowboys.
Staubach, Aikman and Romo say goodbye - NFC East Blog - ESPN
alas our mod who was not attending voluntary camp sat this one out with a classic post:No comment
and Week 5 foreshadowed our big Draft weekend trade:Also, here is another source in regards to the JC trade. I presume everyone is feeding off of the same Bleacher Report headline. ... but they site ESPN 980 as their source...
Has Jason Campbell been traded? « DC Pro Sports Report
soon our thread had past its troubled times and started focusing on FA moves and rumors again but as Draft day approached again we wondered if our thread would finally see its last post:Heard a rumor that after a 2-week delay we'll be getting the Week 6 Off-Season Rumors and Reports thread tomorrow, what we have to give up for it is not yet clear. Stay tuned
and with the draft over, and posts fading our Mod of the future, who said this about the Warpath:And here's how much of a hold the Warpath has on me. One of the many reasons the job didn't seem like it would be a good fit is I didn't know if I could still be a mod on this site and at the same time run the official site. after 743 posts, and thousands of views our Mod ended Week 5 with a simple determined message:
I have decided it's time...thread locked (http://www.thewarpath.net/redskins-locker-room/35913-2010-nfl-off-season-rumors-reports-50.html#post695552)
We will miss you Week 5.
