RT @RickMaese: Here's more. Check it out. RT @JohnNiyo: Lions claim WR Marko Mitchell from #Redskins DETNEWS | Weblogs | Lions Blog (http://bit.ly/diOTYX)

Interesting that a good number of the guys we cut get picked up pretty quick. PJ Hill, Marko, ARE, and a couple others I don't remember.
Well PJ Hill is just playing Marcus Mason as he's been with the Saints before. Lions have jackshit as far as WRs, great place to go for a receiver if they teetered over the wrong side of the fence elsewhere. ARE was bound to be picked up, did anyone but Pittsburgh really make an offer? He's good enough to play, just not for the money, that was a contractual-based cut.

Every team has 5th receivers, 3rd or 4th backs, etc. If ours end up better that's good.

You are right of course, we just played so poor last year that it amazes me that teams even look at our guys. I mean to get from the Skins offense says SOMETHING, just not a good something

So with the Release of Marko Mitchell, the coaching staff clearly feels that going into this CURRENT season with experience is gonna produce better results. I know the MAJORITY of ppl dont wanna see T.O. here. But does anyone think Joey Galloway (im not even gonna get into Bobby Wade here) was the best EXPERIENCED receiver available? What about Laveranues Coles? I want Galloway to produce for us but he is much older than Coles and he couldnt even succeed in the Patriots pass happy offense.

The Patriots have a very complicated passing offense, a lot of option routes (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=wickersham_seth&id=4605676) that require the QB and WRs to be in sync at all times. Definitely not an offense that's easy to step right in to.

At least Galloway still has some speed left, Coles lost his a long time ago.

I hope Marko doesn't win the No.2 job over there and burn us in "revenge". Calvin Johnson is already plenty to worry about.

Very unlikely to happen, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it

Has there been any more talks with the Saints about Jammal Brown recently? I realize Trent Williams was drafted to be the LT this year, but with Stephon Heyer looking more and more like a stop-gap RT it would be nice to have a proven LT and let Williams develop at RT as he did in college. Also, has anyone heard any rumors regarding Chester Pitts? He was released by the Texans but before his injury last season he was a consistent starter. He knows Kyle Shanahans system already and would be a nice addition if he would agree to play RG.

also the money on Willis' guaranteed is actually 29m not 28

Interesting note: they gave a signing bonus in the 2nd year of the deal with an injury exception, so they found yet another creative way around the 30% rule, without paying everything this year.

Detroit is receiver starved, so for a player like Marco looking for an opportunity there's no better place to go. He'll probably get a good look in Detroit.

Landry said he may even line up at LB SOMETIMES. I would think this would be used more as a way to confuse the offense than any other reason.

from a purely fashion standpoint I think that the Eagles uniforms are nice, the current ones

Yeah, if he becomes what we all envisioned he would...Calvin and Marko will be a great WR tandem.
