wonder why we made these cuts now. one would think we'd atleast give mitchell an aldridge an opportunity to compete in the next camp.
regarding torrian, i think he's got a shot. considering none of portis, parker, and johnson play special teams, i cant see how we would keep all three of them. seems smarter to me to keep the best two of them and then a younger, change-of-pace-type back who can contribute to special teams.
There is a max roster of 80, I think we were at 88 before these cuts. If so, we still have a few more to go.
I was on the Training Camp bus for Mitchell, ah well who will be this year's hero!

I am very dissapointed that the team released Montgomery and Mitchell. It seems to me that they have decided to go with exeperience or youth and development.

I'm surprised to not see a ranting, paragraph-long-title thread about Mitchell's release. He was like the WR version of CB.

on the recent cuts -- i am operating on the assumption that shannahan knows best. if montgomery, aldridge and mitchell are not part of his masterplan, no skin off my back. marko seemed like he had some potential during preseason games last year, but this is obviously what shanny and company wanted. hail!

I never thought Hagans and Williams would make longer than Mitchell. shows how little we really know.

Yeah, it also shows how little Ivan Carter knows, he had him on the show a couple of days ago. He was talking him up. I could kind of tell that he was having a tough time just by his comments on how hard a time he was having coming in and out of his breaks.

Looks like Sharper has decided to stay with the Saints, don't have it confirmed though

All I know is when they ask Landry if he'll play FS or SS and he says he'll play closer to the LOS and maybe even line up at LB sometimes, I like it. I have visions of guys coming from all positions and creating alot of CHAOS. :woot:
Don't be so sure about LL. SS yes, LB no.

Stupid Sharper. Doesn't he know that Gene Smith is a genius who drafted a Trevor Laws equivalent at 10th overall in Tyson Alualu. Look how great Laws and doing for the Eagles, now imagine that but in Jacksonville. Oh and how can he not see the genius in releasing John Henderson, does he not understand addition by subtraction?
