^^ Is Capers our Rod Smith? Any chance he actually out performs Williams?

not unless williams completely craps the bed he has way more raw talent, and physical ability than capers, and that is in no way a knock on capers

I gave a grade of "C". I easily could have given a "B" though. I question the WR with a weight of 175 when we need a possession receiver.

I questioned the TE pick. Thought about it and understood they were utilizing him at FB. But I always thought FB's were bigger then TE's? cause they are mostly used for blocking for the RB or at the goal line.

Malcom Kelly says that TW has always been a hard worker. Since we know that it not the case (TW admitted as much in his press conference), that makes me question whether Kelly truly understands the meaning of "hard work." It also makes me question whether Kelly will contribute to the team as much as I had hoped in 2010. I have a nagging feeling that WR will be our greatest need going in to 2011.

You know who I hear has an awsome work ethic?..... T.O.

Just saying. lol.

FB's bigger than TE's? Not usually.

Unless you're talking about Sellers, but he's a freak at FB at 270.

Just curious, why are we in need of a possession WR with Thomas and Kelly still on board?

Like I have said in the other threads....

Thomas is starting to look good. He's still not a DeSean Jackson or a R.Moss but he's getting more passes thrown his way. I have not seen anything out of Kelly that screams we are set at WR. I think he only had like a handfull of balls thrown his way and all I can remember is a crappy screen that went for like 1 yrd.

I totally understand the whole Zorn and Hixon issue. I'm hoping Kelly gets coached up big this yr but until we actually see him perform something special I just don't see how anyone can say "whats the problem we have Thomas and Kelly."

On a side note.... my man Mason only had one preseason and everyone wanted him gone. He got cut and brought back and everyone wondered why he was here. That's how I feel about Kelly. Why is he still on the roster?

simple answer there, mason wasn't a second round draft pick he was a udfa, kelly on the other hand wasn't a udfa yet he wasa second round pick

if he doesn't produce this year he will be gone but you can't justify getting rid of a second rounder after one unproductive year and one injury prone year

Just saying how about giving Kelly a year under Shanahan to see what he can do. If he proves to be a bum put WR on our needs list for next year.

As far as comparing him to Mason, one guy was an undrafted free agent, the other was a 2nd round pick. You tell me the difference between the two.

I thought Mason was here for three pre-seasons?

With McNabb on board there will be no more excuses for our WR's. We will soon know who has it and who does not.
My only concern with Kelly and Thomas besides confirming they have the ability and drive to succeed in the NFL, is will their bodies hold up. They both have a history of nagging injuries and missing time during camp. How much of that is chronic injury and how much is lack of fitness and preparation. These guys better bring their A game. Their time to finally show they belong in the NFL is running out.
