From the little I have seen, I like this guy -- he'll be my training camp favorite this year. He won't get to wear #49 though. KI Skins Fan 04-25-2010, 01:08 PM Here is how I look at our 2010 draft: Round 1. Trent Williams Round 2. Donovan McNabb Round 3. Jeremy Jarmon Round 5. Perry Riley Round 5. Adam Carriker Round 6. Dennis Morris Round 7. Terrence Austin Round 7. Erik Cook Round 7. Selvish Capers Given what they had to work with, I think they did well. I agree with you. The Draft is an Big Event for me but for Shanny and Allen draft picks are simply tools among the other tools in their toolbox. The other tools are Free Agency, trades, strength and conditioning, teaching, etc. Their goal is to use all of their tools in conjunction to build a championship team and not to "win" the Draft event itself. So, of course, they are not going to cling to second round pick when they can use it to get Donovan McNabb. When I look at the players they added during the actual NFL Draft event, I think I'm seeing that they drafted for team needs and that they focused on players who were very productive in college and who are versatile. I don't think it's as helpful for us to look at the nominal positions these guys played in college as it is for us to look at the multiple things that each of them may be able to do for the team. For example, I'm sure that Special Teams ability was considered when they drafted Riley, Morris, and Austin. Anyway, that's how I see it. SirClintonPortis 04-25-2010, 01:39 PM Combine Morris with our new and improved strength and conditioning program, and we may have an absolute monster on our hands. I'm rooting for the guy. From the little I have seen, I like this guy -- he'll be my training camp favorite this year. He won't get to wear #49 though. He is to short, for a TE in general. Thats why he slid. If he was 6-4 he would have 2nd or 3rd. skinsfan_nn 04-25-2010, 02:07 PM I think a solid B. I'm glad to see the OL addressed finally. Williams is a good 1st round pick in the draft for our scheme with a big upside IMO. Hope some of the later picks stick. KI Skins Fan 04-25-2010, 02:07 PM He is to short, for a TE in general. Thats why he slid. If he was 6-4 he would have 2nd or 3rd. He's not too short to be a FB, though. I think he's going to take Big Mike's job if Mike doesn't watch himself. The nice thing about Morris is that he can serve as a FB, as a blocking TE, as a receiver out of the backfield or as a TE, and I'd bet that he'll lay some somebody out on ST before the season is over. PHazard 04-25-2010, 02:16 PM i couldnt find the quote but someone said that there is a big difference in Terrence Austin being 165 or 185.......well hes neither, he's 175 lol YouTube - Terrence Austin Weigh-In 4/6/2010 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKp2q-fpoSU) internetcareer 04-25-2010, 02:29 PM Has anyone seen the sports science video on Selvish Capers? AWESOME! This guy is a steal. Slingin Sammy 33 04-25-2010, 02:32 PM Like I said earlier, you have to wonder why he wasn't projected much higher than the 6th round.
