The Redskins do not know who can play right guard right now. Nobody has been designated as the starter. Hick is a right guard who the Skins have working out at right tackle. Mike Williams was drafted as a tackle who they have working out as a guard. I mean WHO IS THE SKINS RIGHT GUARD.
I know of a pro bowl guard who is a free agent right now. SIGN HIM UP! No brainer.

I heard that Faneca has lost some of his abilities. He may not be any better than what we already have signed up. Plus we just drafted a couple of OLs.

I have to think the left side of the line is set with Williams, Dockery, and Rabach. No way we bring in an aging Faneca to compete with Dockery.

Would be a fantastic acquisition after not drafting too many o-linemen in the draft.

you seem to be unaware that offensive linemen get injured around here quite often. Whoever starts will not finish the season. Thats the history of the Redskins offensive linemen. Just because Fanaca would be aquired would not mean its a mistake if he was playing part time, giving Dockery or mike Williams a rest or even transitioning to center occasionally. Give me a valuable veteran like Fanaca and he is worth his weight in gold even if its just sitting on the bench till a crises occurs.

Can you blame him? We followed the exact same position pattern in rounds 4-7 as we did last year in rounds 6-7 (LB, FB/TE, WR). I was convinced before we picked Cook that the pick was going to be a corner, safety, or punter.

Faneca has become a turnstile in pass pro, but is still a good run blocker. He would be great in the locker room, and would be good depth if the management wants him.

Like I said before though. Since this is reunion time for the Steelers (McFadden, Foote, ARE) I would fully expect the Steelers to pursue him again. If not them then the Bears seem more likely to pay him the type of money he's looking for.

For the right price, it's a no brainer to sign faneca. We can ALWAYS use more OL depth.

We all know McNabb is a piece of glass, obviously we want the best protection for him, and I think getting someone like Faneca would be GREAT. We don't want to trust a bunch of rookies to protect McNabb.
