If you knew Clausen would be available at 37, do you regret the McNabb trade???
Hell no, no regret at all.

MTK 04-23-2010, 12:15 AM If you knew Clausen would be available at 37, do you regret the McNabb trade??? Hell no, no regret at all. 53Fan 04-23-2010, 12:15 AM ^ Good find about Clady Dirtbag. :thumb: mooby 04-23-2010, 12:15 AM When the draft started could anybody see Clausen slipping all the way to the second round? I didn't see that happening at all. I figured if he fell at least one team would be desperate enough to trade into the back end of the first round and grab him. Pocket$ $traight 04-23-2010, 12:15 AM agree'd schefter was spot on tonight. Except when he is furthering Shanahan's agenda... diehard 04-23-2010, 12:15 AM If you knew Clausen would be available at 37, do you regret the McNabb trade??? Yes. Especially considering there's no market for JC. We would then have JC, Clausen, and Trent Williams. It seems as if Shanahan wanted both McNabb and Campbell from the jump, otherwise he sould've waited after the draft. Dirtbag59 04-23-2010, 12:15 AM ^ Good find Dirtbag. :thumb: Thank you. At least someone appreciated it. These threads move so fast sometimes. I'll post it again later. GTripp0012 04-23-2010, 12:16 AM Yeah, but who would have thought he'd slip into the second round? No one predicted that. McNabb was a more prudent move at the time.I mean, while you couldn't have predicted that not one team would trade up into the first round to get Clausen, I don't think it was unfathomable to think that any team who wanted to move up from the top end of the second could get him easily. This is still the case. The 33rd pick is likely going to be a QB with Minnesota sitting there, someone is going to trade for the Rams' pick, and anyone who wants Clausen/McCoy is going to be all over that. MTK 04-23-2010, 12:16 AM Including Denver passing him to take Tebow as their 3rd stringer. I'm still surprised that he slipped, but like I said the Redskins seemed to have move on the McNabb trade after seeing something in Clausen they didn't like. They were never high on Clausen to begin with, according to what SS said. So it's reasonable to think even if we didn't get McNabb, Clausen would still be on the board tonight. Pocket$ $traight 04-23-2010, 12:18 AM Yes. Especially considering there's no market for JC. We would then have JC, Clausen, and Trent Williams. It seems as if Shanahan wanted both McNabb and Campbell from the jump, otherwise he sould've waited after the draft. After seeing McNabb in a burgandy and Gold #5, the last thing I want to see is JC. I have seen enough... Ruhskins 04-23-2010, 12:19 AM So Mel, how well did that "Clausen in the top 10/15" worked out? LOL. |
