GMScud 04-22-2010, 01:22 PM I don't think I've seen a styptic pencil since I was looking at my grandfather's shaving gear after he passed.. wish I had kept some of those doubles and singles, but I was too young to know what was up at that point. Got basketball on your mind? I keep around some Cayenne and Myrrh Gum for any significant cuts. huh? Monkeydad 04-22-2010, 01:22 PM I hope you've got yourself some legal representation on this one. When I was a kid, some family friends were shopping at a hardware store, and something fell off a high shelf and struck their 4 old in the head. He had a pretty serious injury. They got all medical bills paid for by the company, and a six figure settlement to boot. Paper cuts suck ass. For paper cuts (and knicks when I'm shaving), I use a styptic pencil. (http://www.amazon.com/Pinaud-Styptic-Pencil-0-25-pencil/dp/B00112WRB6) It's taken care of, I'm not paying a dime. I keep a styptic pencil around for shaving incidents. Monkeydad 04-22-2010, 01:23 PM Interesting that you managed to find out their nationality while spewing blood ;) Pics of the aftermath? I'll try to get one for you. It's wrapped up now. :D Monkeydad 04-22-2010, 01:25 PM I don't think I've seen a styptic pencil since I was looking at my grandfather's shaving gear after he passed.. wish I had kept some of those doubles and singles, but I was too young to know what was up at that point. Blows the Derek Jeter 5-blade monstrosities out of the water in shave quality and cost of blades. I'll see if I have anything to sell you. :D I could even assemble a "starter kit" if you want. tryfuhl 04-22-2010, 01:27 PM huh? nicks* Gillette used to run some sort of joint-advertising with the NBA and had displays up that mentioned less cuts and "knicks" or something like that.. idk I was around 9 or 10 tryfuhl 04-22-2010, 01:28 PM I shave with DE razors and a shaving brush like your Grandpa. Nice.. the main thing keeping me from doing it is that I really just don't grow much facial hair, I probably couldn't grow a mustache if I tried.. goatee is the only thing.. my sides just get a lil peach fuzz GMScud 04-22-2010, 01:34 PM Nice.. the main thing keeping me from doing it is that I really just don't grow much facial hair, I probably couldn't grow a mustache if I tried.. goatee is the only thing.. my sides just get a lil peach fuzz You're lucky. My beard grows in so thick and fast. I get 5 o'clock shadow around 1:30pm. lol. It's annoying to have to shave every day. tryfuhl 04-22-2010, 01:40 PM You're lucky. I usually just hit the mustache area every day, usually without gel.. sides every few days.. then I'll grow the goatee for a few weeks, chop it off and start over F... trimming Monkeydad 04-22-2010, 01:42 PM You're lucky. A vintage DE razor will keep me smooth until the afternoon/evening. When I used cartridge razors...I'd be like sandpaper by lunchtime. |
