This is a can't lose trade. I just haven't yet figured out where Carriker was in 2009? Was he injured on the PUP list of on the bench or what? I can't seem to find any facts on him after 2008 when he got injured.
Redskins Send 5th Rounder to Rams for Carriker and a 5th (Swap 7ths)internetcareer 04-20-2010, 11:37 PM This is a can't lose trade. I just haven't yet figured out where Carriker was in 2009? And can anyone say Flozell... Plus, hopefully McNabb makes our O-line look a little better. Okung will help too. If your "OT leftovers" theory is correct...and it may be...then if Bradford drops...or the Dline guys...we may just take them....so you are saying.....DONT FREAK OUT!....is this correct? CHIEF CHUCKING MY SPEAR 04-20-2010, 11:38 PM great move hopefully we can get something decent for campbell and rocky and most of all big al ethat001 04-21-2010, 12:19 AM If your "OT leftovers" theory is correct...and it may be...then if Bradford drops...or the Dline guys...we may just take them....so you are saying.....DONT FREAK OUT!....is this correct? Here's an example of picking up extra FA O-linemen AFTER the draft -- last year Cincinnati drafted Andre Smith at #6, and then soon released Levi Jones, their starter. Guess where he ended up as free agent? Cincinnati Bengals inform offensive tackle Levi Jones of plans to move him - ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4105213) Anyway to your point -- I *seriously* think we need (and should draft) an LT. I'm dreaming of Okung in a Redskins uniform. But - if Bradford slips (unlikely) -- it makes it a real hard choice for us, because McNabb is probably only here for 3-5 years, but Bradford could potentially solidify the franchise for 15-20 years. AND if we're not in the NFL basement again, it'd be hard to get a franchise QB if we're drafting in the mid-to-late 1st round. Still, if Bradford slipped to us - perhaps the BEST choice may be to trade down. And if we do skip on Okung, I would freak out. Get used to seeing McNabb scramble. tryfuhl 04-21-2010, 12:33 AM How many d linemen do we have now? 20? good beats having no depth because all of our money is in the top 2 of them rbanerjee23 04-21-2010, 12:40 AM Man we should make up any talent differential with just the sheer number of bodies on the first two levels of the defense. I am getting more and more concerned about O-line depth at this point... The situation along the O-line is getting more worrisome -- how are we going to contest the cowboys' and giants' d-lines, arguably among the top 5 in the league. And Philly isn't exactly shabby. I really hope Shanny and Allen make some play to pick up 3 or 4 quality OLs in the next few months. SkinsfanNTX 04-21-2010, 12:50 AM Good move by the Skins. I have a feeling more trades are forthcoming put up the for sale sign: Haynesworth, Carter, McIntosh, and Campbell. rbanerjee23 04-21-2010, 01:04 AM If they are able to pick up Jammal Brown, that would be incredible. That combined with either Williams or Okung would give us two tremendous book-ends for the offensive line. tryfuhl 04-21-2010, 01:06 AM If they are able to pick up Jammal Brown, that would be incredible. No doubt.. he could play either LT or RT for us depending on what the lineman we draft is able to do I don't want to give up a ton for the guy though jdc65 04-21-2010, 01:16 AM I think that if we get Brown via trade, then Berry comes into play at 4. I like the Carriker trade, but yea, it's about time to load up on some Offensive Linemen. |
