The 3-4 defense better work or it will be a major set back. Our 4-3 defense was pretty good. It just needed a more aggressive play caller who knows what he is doing and a leader in the secondary.
This change to 3-4 defense has created additional needs on a team that has so many other needs to begin with. Using one of our few remaining picks on DL which was not a real big need when the season ended. I continue to question the logic of this move to 3-4. We still need more LB's as well as Offensive linemen and young RB's.

Redskins acquired DT Adam Carriker from the Rams for an exchange of fifth-round picks.
The Rams will send over the fifth-rounder they acquired from Philly in return for the Redskins' fifth rounder (the teams also swap seventh-rounders).
WE DIDNT LOSE A 5th. IT WAS A SWAP OF 5TH ROUND PICKS & 7th ROUNDERS

I think our defense was only good last year becasue basically teams knew if they threw 17 or more points they would win. No need to get tricky on offense when you know the opposing team can't score worth a damn.

This is a lot like the Erasmus James trade.
I thought that was a good value trade, and I think the same of this one.
That's a good point. It's a lot like that trade. Hopefully this one turns out better. Not sure if we had any coaching staff ties to James but what may bode well this time is that Haslet actually likes Carriker.

Signals that STL will draft Suh or McCoy. And we may land Bradford afterall, unless some other team wants him really, really bad. Finally a FO that isn't keen on being on the short end of a deal.
Yes, since the Rams really have faith in AJ Feeley as their QB.

Regardless if they draft Bradford or not, Feeley most likely will be the opening day starter.

I like the trade. Maybe its because I like Carriker coming out of college, and I think he can be a solid DE in the 3-4. Though, my enthusiasm is tempered abit by that Erasmus James analogy, cause I also liked him coming out of college! :confused-
