I think a lot of people on here don't give JLC his just due. I mean the NFL network didn't hire him because he was a slouch. People took his comments on the blog & acted as if that was his "reporting" which it wasn't, it's a blog, which pretty much have few rules.

Also, for all those saying that JLC isn't ethical in so many words, doesn't anyone see a potential conflict of interest w/Schefter reporting the skins? I'm not saying there is, but his past w/Shanny could impact his info on the team to one extreme or the other. He may not want to do 'investigative journalism' behind Shanny's back, whereas JLC will. I certainly wouldn't assume that Schefter always has the inside scoop on the skins.

Actually JLC works for the NFL Network, Schefter works for ESPN. If I remember right Schefter switched companies, and then JLC was hired to replace him at the NFLN.

AH should be happy to do anything the Skins want him to do. He should be the most positive guy out there. He should show up early and be a team leader. Why? He got paid 21 million dollars. That's what we paid him for.

^^ Agree with this. I know when I am paid to do a job I show up. For that kind of money the guy should be happy to do whatever the skins want him to.

We paid him to produce on the field, I get the expectations for other things as well though.

I agree with everything you said (except the last sentence, of course).

For the life of me, i don't get why so many her:

1) completely discredit JLC;
2) put 100% faith in everything Schefter reports when there are multiple, obvious reasons why we should question what he says about the skins; and
3) treat everything the FO or coaching staff says as gospel, when misdirection and deception are every team strives for this time of year.

Personally, if JLC or another sports analyst says one thing, and the team is saying the exact opposite (either through official channels or through schefter), it makes me 100% convinced that the report is true and the team is lying. When the reports agree with what the team is saying, its then that I have no idea what to beleive.

bruce allen's Q&A presser yesterday was pretty funny. started off with "i will attempt to not lie to you. (crowd chuckles at our so charming he almost disalarming hair piece, bruce allen). key word attempt. okay lets get these questions rolling!"

okay the stuff after crowd chuckled was unnecessary and probably didnt happen but the man has podium presence people.

i also dont get why people bash PFT and other sources.

florio and PFT pretty much gather all of the nfl team's beat writers articles, blogs, tweets and then colloborates them all in one easy to reference and find source.

does he speculate at potential trade partners, etc. yes. but i take it for the information that is in the article he is citing and speculating from. his editorial comments, are just that, opinion which i am also cool with as the man knows how to stir a pot.

honestly, florio has made a good bit of change and name recognition just by relentlessly surfing the web for any scantila of nfl news and puts them all in one place so we dont have to. there is a huge need for any rampant speculative maybe breaking news in the nfl, and the man is filling that need and his pockets.

yeah PFT has gotten better.. at least in this offseason.. and yeah it's pretty much just aggregated content with a bit of speculation.. even if we think that Florio can be a douche we pretty much still use his site

JLC also said that we were in the running for Dansby, Porter, etc.. he just hasn't really been on point about much in regards to us this year

Based on overall track record I would take Schefter over JLC any day
