So true. Dogtag 04-24-2010, 04:54 PM So JLC's credibilty rating is what right now? Lotus 04-24-2010, 05:00 PM Now that the draft is over we will have other opportunities to deal Phal Al, should we desire. A team like the Rams might not have been willing to surrender high picks this year but may be willing to surrender next year's picks as the season approaches. A team like the Rams might not have been willing to surrender high picks this year but may be willing to surrender next year's picks as the season approaches. I highly doubt this. Unless something else surfaces (by a credible source like Schefter) I think this idea of trading AH is dead in the water. Haynesworth now needs to prove MS wrong and show up in shape and ready to play; while the coaching staff need to figure out the best way to use AH's talent. SirClintonPortis 04-24-2010, 05:21 PM I thought the reports were much more definitive. More along the lines that AH was being traded yesterday. Actually, to his credit, JLC was careful enough to put in "expected" in the headline and "sources said" throughout the article, as the article title reads, "Haynesworth deal expected to come down Friday". Hence, his sources got owned. So, I guess BHA is kind of right. JLC's reporting was NOT total BS for this matter, but the info he passed along was simply wrong. BigHairedAristocrat 04-24-2010, 06:01 PM Well that shocks the living daylights out of me. You argued through this whole thing that JLC was to be believed over Schefter because Schefter was too tied to MS. Fact is JLC took the base information and spun it as any media hound would. Schefter got better information from a better source (MS probably) and let the details out as best he could. JLCs reporting was self serving, and in fact misleading. Any other way of looking at it is wrong, and mostly from some biased perspective of its own. from my perspective, your comments seem delusional. if schefter really had the scoop on what was going on, he would have provided the details that smoot gave us. he didnt. because he only reports what shanahan tells him. and shanahan had no strategic reason to leak that information. All schefter did was report what shanahan told him. shanahan was negotiating with the titans. the titans wanted to send us a 3rd. we wanted a second. so shanahan told schefter we werent trading haynesworth to strengthen our position and do damage control in the event we couldnt trade haynesworth. the way all this played out only confirms to me that when it comes to the skins, schefter is never going to tell us anything shanahan doesnt want us to know. JLC on the other hand, reported information that was 100% accurate, even though it was incomplete. JLC got wind of it, did his job, and reported it. his sources were correct. the ravens just decided to draft a TE instead of trading for one. Dirtbag59 04-24-2010, 06:07 PM So JLC's credibilty rating is what right now? He got a lot on the first day of the draft, reporting picks the second they were turned in while ESPN had to wait for the actual announcement but this is something that the fanbase won't forget anytime soon. Also keep in mind that Mike Lombardi broke the Campbell to the Raiders story. Lol just realized theres two of those today. |
