I like the New Orleans Saints. I like the feel good story of a city in ruins who almost lost its team and came back a few years later to win it all. I loved that re-grand opening game at the Super Dome on Monday Night when NO crushed the Falcons. I like Drew Brees, Pierre Thomas and Sean Payton. I love Mardi Gras.
But I really hate the condescending attitude the Front Office is exhibiting right now. There are nearly 1200 stadium seats completely occupied by season ticket holders that are being replaced to make room for additional box seats. Im fine with that. Business is business you cant make everyone happy, including, unfortunately, your most dedicated fans.
But the team is blowing up on local media that reports the story. This is bad PR for them and they just want it to go away. Obviously this is the type of special interest story local news outlets use to add charm to otherwise depressing local coverage (see Fox News Sell Our Team DannyBoy (http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpp/news/local/102809-redskins-fans-unhappy-with-dan-snyder)). For the Saints to send nasty emails and threaten and even boycott local media because they are reporting the fact that 1200 loyal Saints fans are being dismissed by the team is ridiculous in my mind.
