Yeah people try to switch up arguements, but when it comes down to the basic principle of are you keeping more of your money vs is the government keeping more of it, most republicans I know identify former idea. I think the switch up of arguements is do to the fact who is in the office of the President or controlling congress at the time. Im sure if these tax breaks were during Bush's time in office, this thread would be started celebrating this fact.
That's why politicals discussions are just such horsesh*t these days. People are so polarized and not will to give credit when due or admitt when their side is wrong...its really quite funny.
That my friend is the truth.

That grammar, even for you, is pathetic. Do you realize you just wrote "firsth" and "secondth?" You are going to give me an aneurysm.

Guy's I'm not against the poor getting a tax break they always have and always will. The problem is that half of the people in the US now pay no federal taxes at all and over a 1/4 get refunds and they pay nothing to start with. There is a problem with this and its keeps getting worse. How the hell are we going to pay for Obama care, SS, medicare, etc... you know all these failing social programs the left loves so much. Maybe we sould do away with them and cut taxes even more and that fine by me. If your going to support these programs like the left does then you have to make everyone pay for them. I'm all for helping out people down on their luck but I'm guessing 30% of these people are just lazy asses and never pay into the system which is what I have a problem with.

First off, this thread is retarded. Not because of the topic, but because of the mostly inane discussion that has ensued. There are some good points scattered but by and large, most of these posts are drivel.
I think I can wrap up firstdown's feelings pretty succinctly. He's in favor of lower taxes, but still thinks everyone should pay their fair share of those lower taxes.
In other words, he'd be more in favor of a flat tax, while keeping taxes relatively low.
I don't think for a second he's doing the math on that, but those are his feelings. Firstdown, go back to high school and take some expository writing classes. For Christ's sakes, you write like a child.
