KC625 04-12-2010, 05:36 AM Thanks for the welcome Skinny. I apoligize, I should have made my opinion more clear. It isn't the ONLY reason that I like having AH as part of the team, there are many reasons but most have been posted here already, ad naseum. I guess I should have said "in addition to what has already been said "
Live and learn....
And I don't think my opinion was "feeble". I didn't imply that anyone needs to scream like a drill instructor or kick someones butt. What I like seeing is someone who has some fire in his gut and stands up for his team, instead of a bunch of prima donnas playing just hard enough to collect a paycheck, and some not even playing THAT hard and are STILL collecting a fat paycheck (Hint, one of them is "I don't do preseason", second hint, intials CP)

You had me at "I don't do preseason" : )
What about coaches who let themselves be made a fool of so they can secure their paycheck for the year...lol. Both that reason and the fact that we're even uttering AH's name shows wherein lies the competitive problems our franchise has suffered.
KC625 04-12-2010, 06:51 AM Agreed Skinny. That said perhaps we can put this topic to rest lol.
Moderator! Check please! :bdh:
Or am I being to presumptive being a newbie and all...hope not, it wasn't meant that way.
djnemo65 04-12-2010, 07:11 AM Like the majority of posters I am siding with Shanahan here, if for no other reason than to support in the broadest terms the general change in discipline and atmosphere at Redskins Park that, needed for so long, Shanahan's arrival appears to be precipitating.
BUT, for some reason there exists a tendency amongst Redskins fans to severely underrate the impact that Haynesworth had on this team last season. Yes, he appeared to get injured several times a game, he huffed and puffed and didn't always seem in optimum shape, and he certainly came off poorly when criticizing Blache's defensive scheme in the media, in particularly uncharitable terms. Nevertheless, when on the field and firing on all cylinders he was every bit the disruptive, menacing force we paid for. It's not a coincidence that Carter and Orakpo both hit double-digit sacks for the year, Carter resurrecting a career that had seemed on the wrong side of done only a season prior.
AH might not be a guy I would choose to have a beer with; and in the end, he might not be a guy the new regime feels it can work with. Fine. But what is so headscratching is the perception - perpetuated by both the media and fans - that he was a bust for us last season. Albert played like one of the best DT's in the league last year.
KC625 04-12-2010, 07:28 AM DJnemo65,

I am actually a teacher over here (getting ready to leave). But thanks for liking my post:)
SmootSmack 04-12-2010, 09:06 AM Dude, please stop with the Fatal Bert, it's moronic.
Probably gets my vote for most moronic nickname we've seen on this board
JoeRedskin 04-12-2010, 09:56 AM ^^ It's a nickname of a nickname (FatAl Bert) that bears no relation to anything. Yes. I too vote "Most Moronic Nickname"
It's like renaming SmootSmack "The Administrator Formerly Known As Smootsmack" and then calling him by the acronym "TAFKAS".

Good post: There are some people in this area who feel the whole Haynesworth situation could have been handled in a way that could have brought about a much better end result.
When you couple the true facts with all the erroneous media reports, it's not difficult to understand why there has been so many varying opinions. Has Haynesworth's attitude in reference to this whole ordeal been less than desireable (maybe) but there's no one side that should be destined to accept all the blame. There could have been just a little more give and take on the part of both parties and the situation could have turned out much different.
CRedskinsRule 04-12-2010, 11:00 AM Very good two part article on AH. In the 2nd part he talks some about last year, and about the 3-4, and what he and Haslett have talked about. It's not earth shattering, but it is the most cohesive take on AH's point of view I have seen.
