Mc2guy 04-08-2010, 11:54 AM If you honestly felt that we were one chess piece away from having a super bowl contender, then I would maybe consider picking up TO.
The problem is we are SOOO far away from being a contender at this point, why bother with an over the hill attitude problem like TO. If you look at our current receivers, there is a lot of young up-and-coming talent there in Mitchell, Thomas, and Kelly. Receiver is not our biggest issue IMO, and wasting the time and energy in managing a known locker room cancer like TO is the LAST thing this team needs to distract it.
Boswell said it well in his piece from the Post yesterday, the skins finally have a qb that will allow them to evaluate their receiver talent. We'll know quickly if we have play-makers or bums when #5 tattoo's their chest 30 yards down field. At least wait for a couple of mini-camps to let the coaching staff make their evaluations before going him.
REDSKINZ-RIDEORDIE 04-08-2010, 11:59 AM Ive been pulling for the Skins to go after T.O. or Brandon Marshall since our season ended. ONE MORE STUD WR and some additions to our O-line and our offense is SET.
REDSKINZ-RIDEORDIE 04-08-2010, 12:11 PM Nah...TO here means less playing time for our young WRs. I want to see what DT can do.
Yeah, but at the same time we still need depth at the WR position. We still need to fill Randel Els spot. The NFL season is long for the players that participate in. Plus, having TO (or any other stud WR) will force teams to focus on them and open up more opportunities for our up in coming WRs. Let them get some big passes, make plays, get their swagger up. DT and MK will be seeing significant playing time regardless.

Combined with our RB's, Running game or Play Action Pass would be ridiculous!!!
Trample the Elderly 04-08-2010, 12:35 PM Did Mcnabb open the door for TO?
Isn't that what a gentlemen is supposed to do for a lady?

LOL, OMG. I tell people we are way off from a SB and need to rebuild and I'm met with ..."no, Allen and Shanahan think we are contenders" "we don't need a Rookie QB cause they are going to try and make a run at it."
I decide to buy into the "hey we are one player away" attitude again since thats the Skins motto and I see "no, we are way too far away from being SB contenders." LOL.
Our oppinions are so far away from each other. It's funny.

Valid points.
TO at this point is a hired gun. I too would rather not see a 36 year old WR taking snaps away from our younger guys.

LOL... how true! But here is the truth.
"IF", we were "1" player away from winning the SB, WE WOULD BE IN THE SUPERBOWL!
Most teams that compete in the SB are more than "1" away from the SB. The diff. is they play as "1" UNIT
1 UNIT > 1 PLAYER
LOL...
tryfuhl 04-08-2010, 01:34 PM I don't know if I should respond to this thread. If people think T.O. will be the best receiver ever, there's nothing i can do.
Jesus you're so reactionary. In this short time you've thrown more fits than my last psycho ex. Chill out brotato.
